Evelyn was now at home, sat on a chair at the dining room, while her mother finish a potion made just for her.
— You know I hate to spend such ingredients with you, once I got so many methods to take the true out of you, but we can not take the risk of adorable Mrs. Malfoy seeing some marks, can we? — Antonia approached Evelyn with a spoon.
— No, mother.
— Exactly. Now, open your mouth and swallow every single drop. — The older woman tucked the cutlery down Evelyn's throat.
Veritaserum was not that yucky, but obviously Antonia putted some spice in the girl's potion.
— Did you give Amortentia for Narcissa? — Mrs. Wentworth asked after a few minutes, giving time for the liquid to do its thing.
— No. — The answer was clear and direct.
— Do not lie to me!
— How could I fucking lie to you? You gave me goddamn Veritaserum. — A sharp slap made Evelyn's head turn. Her harsh words was not absolutely her fault, her mother knew she would act like that and was just certifying the potion was working.
— Let's start again. What did you do for her to like you? — Evelyn's eyes didn't leave her mother's.
— Why don't you ask her? — Evelyn's sincerity was making Antonia lose her patience.
— If you speak like that with me one more fucking time, I'm going to crucio you. You gonna find an answer in this stupid head of yours or you are not going anywhere tomorrow!
— I don't know! I have no idea why she likes me, but I ask you: why is it so difficult for you accept she simple got captivated for my personality or something?
— Há! Don't make me laugh. You are nothing but a stubborn, selfish, grumpy girl. All this little education you have, it was me who taught you, she doesn't like you, she likes your exterior, which I created. She likes me.
Evelyn was lucky her mother was terrible at potions, what made the effect shorter than expected, because if it was in its maximum, she would not control her mouth to tell Antonia how fucking sick she was.
With her conclusion, Mrs. Wentworth turned around and went to sleep, commanding Evelyn to clean the mess she made, in silence to not disturbe her.
When the blonde was done, she went to her room to pack all her things for tomorrow. She couldn't wait to leave her house. Since Hogwarts was over, the girl was saving every single knut to live by her own. In the last case she would marry some guy she doesn't love just to be out of a place she hates, but luckily Mrs. Malfoy appeared in her life.
At night she couldn't get to sleep. Thinking what if her mother was right? What if Narcissa started to hate her when they get to know each other a little more? And there is Lucius, her boss. She was moving to live with her boss and his wife, the urge to write a letter thanking the Malfoys and denning the invite was getting bigger. Lost in her thoughts, Evelyn didn't saw the sun was already rising, it was time to get dressed.
The night at the manor was eventful as well, Lucius was mad at Narcissa, not wanting to speak with her or even look at her face. He knows he was making a scene, but a well deserved one.
— Luci, I'm sorry. I couldn't let her with that woman. — Narcissa was trying to reasoning with him, cuddling his long hair to please him a little bit.
