As expected, Evelyn only slept for an hour with the effect of the relaxing charm. She still gotta the whole night ahead and even a single drop of sleepiness on her body. She tried her best, changing positions on the bed, staying quiet and not moving, but nothing seems to work, so she decided that maybe she could explore the manor while the Malfoys were sleeping.
Obviously there was a part of her brain saying to her she was being enough of a burden, she should stay quiet in her bed even if she was not sleepy, cause she had annoyed the Malfoys all day and now she should contain herself. But she was so bored she couldn't just lay the night away waiting for Narcissa to wake up.
Getting up she got her wand, whispered 'lumus' and went to the corridor, Evelyn looked to the both sides before start to explore. At first she was not finding anything interesting, basically closed doors and decorations, but then she found a hall with frames, members of the Malfoy family to be more exact. Every ancestral of the family hanging on the wall, giving Evelyn the affirmation of something she was already aware of: this family was pure and traditional, Lucius could name every person on his family tree without hesitation, such a privilege.
Evelyn got out of her thoughts with an annoyed voice saying to her.
— Go back where you belong, you whore! — One of the frames said to her.
— Hey, that is not a polite thing to say for a woman! — She answered.
— I see no woman, I'm looking at an opportunist little bitch.
Offended, Evelyn search for the name bellow the frame, noticing it was Lucius' father, Abraxas Malfoy who was telling her those things.
— Well, too bad, cause you are just a frame and I'm a real person! I can just turn around and ignore you, and you are going to stay there, being a stupid frame on the wall. — Evelyn showed him her tongue.
— I am warning you, get away of this house, this is not a place for whores, this is a family's home my ancestors build with love and tradition. You must just be here because Narcissa is a whore as much as you. You know? You are not the first one — Abraxas laughed. — You are hardly the seventh girl she brings here to play dolls, and then when she gets tired, she'll throw you away as she always did with the other girls. Get out of here now that you have the chance.
The grumpy frame really upset Evelyn now, she had so much trauma in her life and certainly abandonment was one of those. Her mother get rid of her when she was 2 months old, putting her in a full time day care just to not be bother by a baby she didn't want. That way, Evelyn was a lot more developed than the other kids, she learn how to speak, walk, read and write very soon, she also learned how too prepare small meals still as a baby. Everyone though she was a brilliant kid, but she was just trying to survive. When she was independent enough, her mother took her out of the day care and start to treat her like a domestic elf, where again, she developed more issues for her little blonde head.
Considering this amount of problems, she was attached to Narcissa already, she was being so kind to her and giving her some type of love she never felt. She didn't want to think that Mrs. Malfoy would throw her away by any moment. Her anxiousness attacked her poor heart, she started to overthink about she was not supposed to leave her room in the middle of the night and Narcissa would be upset with her, what would make her get annoyed with her very soon. Now, hyperventilating Evelyn tried to make her way to her room again, but the corridors aren't familiar as before, she was lost. The realization just made it worse, cause now all she could think was that Narcissa would know she get out of her bed and she would get mad and send her home again, tears started to roll down her face as she run to somewhere she known.
Her vision was not very good with that amount of water running down through her eyes, so she couldn't anticipate the collision with a strange body. Evelyn almost fell on her butt, but reached a wall and found balance again, looking up she meet the grey cold eyes of Lucius Malfoy staring her.
