The fight between the Malfoys was still going after about 40 minutes in a row. Lucius was so convinced he had to show Narcissa what she did was wrong, he didn't notice that it was completely broking her inside.

— I'M SO SORRY, OKAY? — Narcissa yelled, bursting in tears one more time, but this one was more hurt and desperate. — Look Lucius, I know what I did was wrong, I know I don't have the right to interfere this much on her life, but we both know what would happen to her if she comes back home... You have to understand me, you must not love her as I do, but I know you care for her too. — Sobbing and hiccups fight with the words of her speech, waiting it for come to an end to scape uncontrollably out of her mouth. — I didn't know what to do, please.

The sight of once so strong Mrs. Malfoy now looking so tiny, shaking and crying carrying too much pain, broke Lucius' heart, who approach his wife, taking her sadden frame into his arms, pressing her to his chest.

— I know, Cara Mia. — Lucius kissed the top of her bi-colored hair. — I'm just thinking about her reaction when she finds out-

— No! She can't... I-I can't — Narcissa panicked at the possibility. — Lucius shes going to hate me, I can't deal with that... I can't deal with my baby leaving me. No, Lucius please please I need her... don't make me tell her. — The matriarch cried like a child on her husband's chest.

— Love, look at me. — So she did, glancing him through bloodshot puffy eyes. — Stop overthinking, okay? You don't have to tell her today, cause you clearly don't have any conditions to do so, so lets take a shower and head to bed, shall we? — Narcissa nodded at him, let her husband guide the directions to their bathroom.

When they passed their empty bed, Narcissa flinched at Evelyn's absence, it has been weeks since the last time she has slept on her own bed. She remembered herself to check on her baby's room to make sure she was okay.

They both showered on silence. Narcissa did the best to wash the guilty off her, but no success. As they stepped out of the bathroom, Mrs. Malfoy decided she didn't have the energy to take care of her skin as she did every night, so she just casted a spell to take the swell off her face and make the redden eyes of her cornes disappear, but it was not enough to undo the exhaustion wrote on her expression.

Narcissa was not in her best version, but she was looking acceptable enough to talk to the woman she was in love with. The witch threw a robe over her shoulders and went to Evelyn's room. Midway to the girl's chambers, the matriarch already noticed the open door, the view gave her heart a twinge, urging her to rush into its direction. As Narcissa gaze into the room and saw nothing more than a messy bed, her stomach twisted, she could puke right there on her feet, but she needed to search around the room. The reason part of her brain were telling her the girl was just on her bathroom or closed.

Her trembling legs guided her to the restroom while her eyes scanned every corner it could possibly find, but there was nothing besides Marie. The bath was empty, just as the box or every other place. Mrs. Malfoy white skin went paler, she didn't even notice her voice screaming for Lucius, who came tripping at his trousers as fast as he could to understand the yelling.

— What is it, dear? — Heavy breathing was present in his words.

— Evelyn is not here... do you think that... — The woman felt mortified to put in words what her brain thought. — Do you think she heard us? — Actually say this out loud was worse than she had imagined.

Lucius had the same idea, because to be honest, they were yelling at each other, and if the girl remained at the stairs she would clearly hear what it was about. But obviously he didn't want Narcissa to suffer more.
