Narcissa's head was throbbing with stress, the situation leaved her somewhere dark. Lucius and her were indeed legally forgiven, but not popularly. They couldn't go out in public for a long time after the war, cause when they did, cameras were put on their faces while absurds were screamed at them. It took a lot of time and donations to make people see they as human beings again, but obviously the trust was broke, just a single article about them being abusers could literally end their lives, sentencing them to Azkaban.
In the other hand, Narcissa didn't want to "buy" Evelyn from her mother, she really got strong feelings for the girl and would never hurt her like this on purpose, treating her as some merchandise, although she knew her baby would be a lot more hurt if she left her to her mother again, and not only the mental way.
Heading to a fireplace, she followed Antonia with her mind made up. A second after being consumed by green flames, Narcissa step out in a middle class house. This one was definitely not bad, but didn't fell like a home, the place was cold and impersonal, it was like one of those selling houses just with the basic decoration. There was no pictures on the walls or the furniture, not a personal object on the space her eyes reached, not a single hint that her babygirl used to live there.
— It is a nice house. — Narcissa broke the silence.
— Don't pretend you are not disgusted by the poverty this house exhale. — Bitter as always, Antonia answered.
Mrs. Malfoy sighed, not seeing any point in wasting energy responding the woman, so she just ignored the comment. They waited Matthew after Antonia's contact, which didn't took too long. Are they this eager to have the girl out of their lives? Narcissa felt her stomach turn.
When the man arrived, Antonia pushed him aside to explain what was going on, Narcissa noted how his eyes were widen as his wife would tell him the deal. At the end, he smiled and approached the socialite, offering his hand to her.
— Good evening, Mrs Malfoy. What a pleasure to solve this business. Can we start? — Narcissa simply nodded at him with her ice queen expression.
Soon Antonia and Narcissa were face to face, their eyes never leaving the other, they hold the gaze like it was a competition while Matthew were at their side, preparing for the spell he was about to conjure. Quietly he asked for them to leave their wands away to not cause any interference, so Narcissa slowly search in her robes for the object, observing when Mrs. Wentworth put her wand away first, that was the chance which the toned hair woman did not waste.
Rising her wand in a second, Narcissa pointed to Matthew as the word expeliarmus could be heard in a rushed tone followed by the imobilus spell, like it all was one thing. Antonia was with her wand again when the woman turned to her, but before she could do anything, Narcissa was ready to utter one of the hardest decisions of her life. In a fraction of a second obliviate leaved her mouth, concentring all her power to erase Evelyn from her mother's mind. Her heart was about to explode, all she could her was the pulsation of the blood in her ears. Mrs. Malfoy had to hold it for some seconds, and when the woman before her lose consciousness, the Malfoy went for the man, doing the very same process.
She knew they wouldn't take long to wake up, and probably would be confused by the situation of being on the ground. A stupid plan ran her brain, but considering her options at the moment, she rushed to the kitchen finding some glasses and pouring alcohol on them, creating a scenario that -she hoped- would convince them.
After that, she had to exclude every proof that they had a child, what was not difficult, considering the lack of Evelyn's itens on the house. Looking out the rooms, Narcissa found one she judged being her baby's, but just because it was the second bigger room. She got a confirmation when she opened the closed and found some old clothes Evelyn leaved behind. Mrs. Malfoy collected all of them and took with her to donate for one of the children's house she helped.
