— I'm sorry honey, but I don't think it is a good idea. — Narcissa said coldly at Evelyn's request to met her friends.
— Mommy, we do it every year, they'd really get worried if I didn't show up... I mean they know how my mother is, and they'll think she did something to me. — Evelyn has never talked back to Narcissa, but the last thing she wanted was their 'secret relationship' to be exposed. — They will go after me.
Reality of her actions slapped Narcissa one more time. If she hadn't obliviated Antonia, she'd had nothing to fear about some young wizards knocking at Evelyn's old house looking for her. She wanted to scream in rage, this topic would never stop bothering her.
Seeing that Cissy take a while to give Evelyn some position, Lucius tried to help.
— Cissa, let her. It would be just a couple of hours, right? — Mr. Malfoy gazed the blonde girl, giving her a chance to help herself.
— Yes, of course! We'll just talk about what happened this pasted year, eat and drink some butterbeers. And I won't say a thing about us, you don't have to worry. I'll be back before you can notice.
Narcissa's nose wrinkled at the realization she had no option but let Evelyn go out. Her mood soured, mostly because her babygirl really looked excited to go in this meeting instead of staying with her.
— You may go... — And suddenly the Ice Queen made an apparition. — But I want you home at twilight; I will sort out your clothes, hair and makeup; Don't do anything that will put your image on tomorrow's Daily Prophet; And I really suggest you to not drink any drop of alcohol. — The rules were put in a sharp tone, to make the blonde understand that she would be punished if she didn't follow the orders. Although, the last one made her whine.
— But I want to drink butterbeers! — Evelyn pouted and crossed her arms. The kitty potion were still doing its effect, so her cat eats reacted too, getting on airplane mode.
— Cissy, one or two will make no harm...— Lucius tried to ease the woman as well.
— No! One turn into two, that turn into four. I don't need you to get drunk and vulnerable. Merlin knows what could happen. — Narcissa tried to hide her anger picking her robes to get up from the couch and leave the room, paying no attention to Evelyn's eyebrows knit together in unpleasantness.
Lucius, on the other hand, was very aware of the state of nuisance the blonde girl was. He could understand his wife, but on this one, he had more empathy for Evelyn. She was locked in this manor for way too long, it would be good to her have some fun. And of course, the couple could be alone for some hours, something Lucius secretly missed.
— I'm sorry, little one, I'm afraid I can't do much about the alcohol. But I'm sure it won't stop you from having fun with your friends. — He tried to cheer her up a bit.
— I don't understand why she doesn't trust me! — Evelyn simply ignored everything Lucius said to her, still focused on the woman's speech. — I act accordingly to her liking ever since I got here, but she doesn't trust me to drink a mere butterbeer when she is not around. It is not fair!
— Princess, it is not like that, she is just worried about your well being. Narcissa feels she have the duty of taking care of you... she is just afraid. — Lucius approached the girl, rubbing the gap between her hybrid ears, trying to calm her down.
— I survived all this years before meeting her, I'm sure I can handle hogsmeade. — Evelyn took a deep breath and got up.
Her body was craving real milk thank to the potion, she could just call Betty to prepare a cup and leave it beside her bed, but she thought it was better to have a walk thru the mansion and clear her head a little bit.
