Evelyn woke up in her normally schedule that morning, not a single sight of hangover thank to her youth. There wasn't any physically reason for her not continue her routine, but knowing what was coming, she just close her eyes again and tried to clear her brain, soothing herself in hope to falling asleep again.
Unfortunately her mind wouldn't stop projecting what Narcissa has prepared for her, and above that, she was still hurted for being followed, so even aware of the punishment that is coming, she would stand up for her feelings.
She knew she couldn't postpone it more, the clock hit 09:15, what meant she was 45 minutes late for breakfast and already missed saying goodbye to Lucius. Definitely procrastinating the storm, but it won't last much, cause downstairs was a furious Narcissa taking Evelyn's absence as a challenge.
Lady Malfoy stared fixed at her buttered toast, that only remained fresh in purpose of a spell, because she didn't have touched a single millimeter of her breakfast waiting for the spoiled brat.
As the minutes passed, her patience shortened at every second, and eventually getting tired of waiting, Narcissa summoned Betty.
— Make Evelyn come to table. Warn her if she is not here in 2 minutes I will bring her myself, and it would not be pleasant for any of us. — The woman's voice were sharp as a knife, what made Betty shiver on place.
The elf just nodded and disappeared from Narcissa's vision, the little creature wanted to protect her younger mistress from the wrath that was present in her Lady's words.
Betty apparated in the room, gazing the lump above the mattress, indicating that Evelyn was still there. The little tap of her feet could be heard as she rushed to make it all in 2 minutes.
— Little miss, please wake up! Madam Narcissa is furious with little miss' absence at breakfast. — Betty shook Evelyn's arm.
Evelyn, who was already woke, looked at Betty with a frown. She didn't want to face it.
— Go little miss, we only have two minutes, or she will be coming. I'm scared she will hurt miss Evelyn. — The elf pleaded with her ears low and big bright eyes.
Evelyn sighed and got up, she didn't want to do this, but face it for Betty, the elf did not deserve being a part of this.
— Can you bring me there, Betty? This way we get there sooner. — She asked with fake calmness.
— Of course, miss, hold Betty's hand. — Betty extended her little hand to Evelyn, who took it right away.
In a blink of eye they were at the dining room. Evelyn felt a shiver down her spine, the place held an freezing dark energy. When a voice reached Evelyn's and Betty's ears, they both flinched in fear.
— Betty, you are dismissed for today, and I mean it. — The Ice Queen commanded.
The little creature looked one more time at Evelyn, as saying good luck and popped away. When it was just two in the room, Evelyn silently made her way to her usual seat and gazed at the bowl placed in front of her.
The content in the bowl was a grayish mass that didn't deserved to be called a porridge, she could smell it was made from bananas, what the girl was not a fan. Evelyn twisted her nose at the food, pushed the tray away from her and pouted. She was used to eat pancakes, waffles, toasts or cakes for breakfast, she was definitely not eating this elderly-like food.
Narcissa squeezed the mug in her hand, almost breaking its wing in pure rage. She was a Black, and the Black family do not accept any kind of disobedience, her urge to tuck the porridge down Evelyn's throat was consuming her thoughts, but her brain remembered her that she was the superior one in this dispute, and she must act as so.
