i wiped the sweat from my forehead before quickly getting back to work. i was currently sitting on the floor of the twin's room as i finished up the second crib of the day.

working on this nursery was so much harder than i initially expected it to be.

for months, ariana had two colors that she really liked for the room. neither was necessarily "girly" or "boyish," since both of us didn't want to cram them into just pink and blue.

i painted the walls with the colors and i thought i looked great-amazing even! but ariana didn't even look at it and changed her mind as soon as the paint dried.

i, of course, was a little upset, but i repainted it with the two new colors she picked a few days ago. i would literally do anything for this woman. if she told me today that she wanted to change the paint again, i'd do it in a heartbeat.

speaking of my fiancée, we were unfortunately forced apart by her family. ariana, nonna, and joan we're having a little girl's day and i was sadly not invited.

i smiled to myself and leaned back on my hands as i drilled in the final screw. i pulled myself up and started to move the crib according to the layout ariana and i had made a while back.

we weren't sure if it was a final decision, but if we wanted to change it, i quickly could.

i sighed as wiped my sweaty hands on my sweats as i moved over by the door, grabbing the pictures and other cute wall decorations that ariana wanted me to hang up.

i put a few above the cribs but left room for the signs with their names that i plan to make a few weeks after the twins are born.

oh, and we still don't have names!

neither of us could think of something that seemed to suit either of them. i thought it would be a good idea for us to do it in the moment, since that's what the both of us are best at.

i think when we see them, we'll just know.

i threw my arms above my head as i finally finished. i decided to go around and pick up all of the packaging and trash laying around, shoving it into the trash bag i kept in here for the time being.

i hummed to myself as i tied the trash bag tightly and hoisted it up to take it out to the trash. i flicked off the light in the room as i walked out of the door, my eyes down at my feet.

just as i was turning the corner out of the room, i was nearly knocked off my feet.

"y/n!" someone screamed in my face as they grabbed my shoulders. i shouted and dropped the trash bag, my heart beating a thousand miles a minute. i looked up at the person and scowled when i saw miles.

"dude what the fuck was that for? you're lucky i didn't beat your bitch as-" miles cut me off with a frantic wave of his hands.

"shut the fuck up! not the damn time! why aren't you answering your phone?" he asked me with bug eyes. i looked at him like he was crazy and shrugged.

"i was working on the twin's room...? why, what's-" and again, i was cut off by miles sighing heavily.

"ariana's fucking water broke like over half an hour ago and she's pissed at you because you weren't answering, so i have to come retrieve your stupid ass! legit everybody's already at the hospital-except you! the fucking baby daddy!"

my jaw dropped and my eyes went wide.

"what?!" i shouted. "oh my fucking god ariana's gonna kill me!"

ariana's pov

"i'm going to fucking kill her! where the fuck is she!" i screamed at anybody that would listen as another contraction waved through my body.
