"miles, i'm fucking tell you! i can't do it!" y/n yelled at him, her fingers gripping tightly around the bar of the weight.

"yes, you can! man, you used to be able to press your entire weight, plus more. i know you can do this." miles stood behind her, spotting her.

y/n huffed, scooting her body down the bench and sitting up. "yeah, that was before i got fucking addicted to coke, miles. i can't do it. not yet."

i watched from my spot on the treadmill, frowning at her words. i had never really heard her say it, and it definitely wasn't going to get easier to hear it.

miles sighed before coming around the other side of the bench.

"alright, i'm sorry. i don't want to push you too far. you've made a shit ton of progress for just a week, and i'm proud of you."

he clapped his hand against her shoulder, making her look up at him. she nodded, running her hand over her face.

"thanks. sorry for yelling," she mumbled, letting him pull her up from her sitting position.

miles grinned at her, swinging his arm around her shoulder. "it's alright, carter. how about we be done for today? i'm hungry as fuck." they walked over to me and i slowed the speed of the treadmill to a steady walk.

our eyes adverted to the stairs as alexa came down, aurora and jay in her arms. she smiled at us, walking over to our little group.

"hey! little miss started whining for her mama, so i thought i'd bring her down," alexa grinned at y/n, bouncing aurora on her arm.

y/n grinned widely, reaching out for our daughter. aurora squealed and held out her arms, holding on tight to y/n as she grabbed her.

"hi baby!" y/n gasped dramatically, pressing her lips to aurora's chubby cheek. my heart warmed at the sight of them as aurora cuddled into her shoulder, drool dripping onto her shirt.

y/n looked over at me and caught me staring, a small blush forming on my cheeks. she smiled at me, her eyes shimmering. i smiled back, butterflies erupting in my stomach.

"awe," alexa cooed, swaying jay in her arms. "you guys are so cute. hurry up and get married."

y/n and i giggled, looking at each other again. we had started talking about the wedding a few days ago and have picked up on planning again. right now, we're working on getting a venue picked out.

"i know. i'm so jealous," miles added, shaking his head dramatically.

y/n scoffed before i could, rolling her eyes. "bitch, please. give it up."

miles looked at her, eyebrows furrowed. "give what up?"

y/n narrowed her eyes at him, giving him a look. "it's literally so obvious you two are dating. you guys suck at hiding it." she laughed, nuzzling her nose into aurora's hair.

alexa's eyes widened, her cheeks flushing. "what? no we aren't!" she was so defensive, if i already didn't know they were together, that would've confirmed it.

"ariana knows too!" y/n gestured to me, making them both look over. i stopped the treadmill and hopped off, shrugging.

"it's really obvious, guys," i said, sipping from my water as y/n cackled.

miles puckered his lips, his eyes falling to alexa. she blushed and shrugged, rolling her eyes.

"fine. you guys suck," she mumbled, burning brighter.

miles walked over to alexa and wrapped an arm around her, pulling her into his side. "at least we don't have to hide it anymore. that was annoying."

"you guys are so cute. i love this so much." i smiled at them, happy that they had both found each other. i looked up at y/n, noticing the softness of her eyes as she looked at them.
