two months agothe sun had just barely risen and started to flood through the windows, and y/n and i were already up. it was unusual for us to be up this early but it felt good because it was just us. we hadn't heard a peep from the twin's room since we laid them down last night.
i poured a large mug of coffee to give y/n when she came in from getting the mail. i added some milk and sugar, making it just how i know she likes it. i tasted it to make sure it was perfect and sat it aside to make my own.
i heard y/n's bigfoot like footsteps approaching the kitchen and laughed to myself, glancing over my shoulder as she walked in. her head was down as she flipped through the mail, glasses perched on the bridge of her nose.
the mail made a loud slapping sound as she threw it down on the counter. i tossed in some sugar into my cup and stirred it around, watching it dissolve.
i gasped as y/n dipped her hand under my silk nightgown and pressed it to my back, the coldness of her touch making my back arch. "why're your hands so cold?" i whispered to her, glancing up at her.
"cold outside," she whispered back, leaning against me. "you're warm." she lowered her head and kissed my bare shoulder, trailing her lips up until she kissed my ear.
i smiled as her hand warmed up against my back and i grabbed her coffee, holding it up to her. her hand fell from my back as she grabbed it, taking a sip. i giggled as her glasses fogged up under the heat.
"it's good?" i asked, quirking a brow. y/n brought the cup away from her face and i watched as the fog disappeared from her glasses.
"it's perfect. just like you." y/n bent down to kiss my cheek and then my lips, the taste of coffee already on her lips. her strong arm wrapped around my waist and she pulled me close, her skin touching mine. "i love you."
i smiled again, wrapping an arm around her neck to kiss her again. "i love you too. now, go sit. i'll get some fruit and be there in a sec." i pecked her lips before pulling away from her hold.
i heard her footsteps leaving the kitchen as i opened the fridge to pull out a tupperware of fruit i made last night. i grabbed my coffee and made my way to the living room, seeing y/n just sitting down.
"you're so hot." i mumbled as i walked over to the couch, putting the fruit down on the coffee table. "screw you and your perfect abs." i kicked her leg softly before plopping down right next to her, leaning against her arm.
"don't be jealous." y/n tapped my foot with her own and leaned her head against mine.
"no one is jealous of you. you're ugly." i looked up at y/n and held back a laugh at the look on her face. "did i make you sad?" i raised my eyebrows and leaned up to kiss her jaw.
y/n didn't answer, she just shook her head and drank the rest of her coffee. she leaned forward to put her empty cup down on the table. when she leaned back again, she looped her arm around my shoulders to pull me against her.
"we need a date night. i miss you." she ran her fingers through my hair gently, working through the knots and tangles. i looked up at her, my lips pulling into a smile.
"yeah? i'd like that." i cuddled in closer to her, sliding my hand underneath her shirt. "maybe we can do that tonight? i can call my mom and see if she can take the twins, and we can go out?"
y/n took in a deep breath through her nose and shook her head. "what if we just stay in? cook dinner together and just chill? i just wanna be alone with you." her hand met mine, holding it under her shirt.
