"hey, baby." i wrapped my arms around y/n's shoulders from behind as she sat on the couch. the tv was quietly playing princess and the frog for the twins that were sitting up on the couch on either side of her. y/n's thumbs were rapidly typing on her phone in the notes app, her eyes periodically darting up to the tv or to check on the twins.

"hi," y/n returned, leaning her head against my own as i propped my chin up on her shoulder. she hummed, her nose pushing against my arm. "you smell good."

i giggled, running my hands down her chest. "i just got out of the bath, and i was wonderin' if you want to give the twins one with me?" i rubbed her stomach softly as her head rolled back.

"yeah, that sounds nice." y/n whispered and looked up at me. i smiled, leaning down to press my lips to hers in a soft kiss. "mm, you taste good too."

i pulled away, looking down at the smirk on her face. i rolled my eyes and patted her cheek. "oh, you quit. let's go, you get jay." i patted her shoulder next before walking around the couch and swooping up aurora.

she gave me a gummy smile before giggling loudly. "hello, baby! it's bath time!" i gasped, pressing my lips to her chubby cheek.

y/n stood up from the couch and grabbed jay. he immediately cuddled into her, his hands wrapped around her necklace. y/n smiled and kissed his curly head, her hand running down his back.

"alright, bath time!" i cheered as i began to walk upstairs, y/n close behind me with jay. we entered the guest bathroom and i looked at her over my shoulder. "i'm gonna start the bath. can you go get their jammies?" i asked, plopping aurora down on the rug.

y/n bursted out laughing all of the sudden, making me frown. "what? why are you laughing?" i whined, still crouched by aurora.

"jammies?" y/n could barely speak as she continued to laugh, jay bouncing in her arms and giggling with her. "holy shit, that's so funny!" i pouted at her giggles as she bent down and handed jay to me, and i didn't miss the pout on his lips when her touch was lost.

"go do what i told you," i mumbled, putting jay next to his little sister. aurora instantly leaned into his side and neither y/n or i could hold back our smiles.

y/n grabbed my jaw gently and angled my head towards her so she could bend down and peck my lips. "be right back," she muttered against my lips before pulling back and leaving the room.

i couldn't stop smiling as i shook my head, turning my attention back to the babies. i tickled under their chins, making them both giggle before i turned the water on in the bath.

after turning on the water, i laid jay down gently and pulled off his little shirt and his pants, tossing them to the basket. i did the same to aurora, and when i was done with both of them, y/n was coming back in with towels and their pajamas.

she put them both on the counter before she grabbed the bubble bath and put a bit of it in the water before shutting it off. it was silent between the both of us as we each grabbed a twin and plopped them into the bath.

luckily for y/n and i, both jay and aurora liked to be in the bath and never really threw a tantrum. i just hoped that it stayed that way when they got older because right now, bath time with the three of them is my favorite part of the day.

i handed y/n a little cup and kept the other one for myself to pour the water over their heads and their shoulders. it was relatively quiet between all four of us as y/n cupped her hand below aurora's hairline and tilted her head back, gently pouring the water into her hair.
