Helena P.O.V.
It's been a few months since Tom and Laura found out about the babies. They wanted to wait until they were born to know the gender. I've been helping them prep as well as helping my friend by buying small things I know my friend will need. I went out today and stopped to buy some baby clothes I know they will need. I decided to leave them at my friend's house. As I am in Laura's room helping them arrange the bedroom I notice I have a text on my phone. I look at it and it says "Meet me at the coffee shop. Its important." I look up where I find Laura looking worried. "Mum are you alright?" She asks. " I'm alright sweetheart, listen I have to run out quick I'll be back soon. If you need me call me. " I tell her. I'm afraid to leave them alone since Laura could have the babies any day. "Mum we'll be fine." Laura says, reassuring me. I leave the house quickly driving to the coffee shop where I see my friend. My friend has a bag in their hand and I'm trying to hide the snicker that is slowly spreading its way to my face. My friend sits down and says to me "Do you know how these made their way to my house?" My friend asks, looking pissed off and shoving the bag of baby clothes at me. "Not a clue. " I say, innocently. "Listen, if you are trying to pull a stunt it won't work." My friend says. "Why would you think I would ever do something like that? " I ask innocently, batting my eyelashes at my friend. "I'm serious Helena!!!!" My friend says, yelling at me. "Well that's what you get." I say. " What does that mean? " my friend asks. I decided I've had enough and get up and leave the coffee shop. I get back to my car and realize I have two missed calls from Tom. I grab my phone and quickly dial but he doesn't pick up. I race back to the house and see a trail of blood leading from the loo to the bedroom. I walk into the bedroom where I find a trail of blood and I find Laura and Tom both on the floor. Tom is covered in blood and Laura is laying on the floor holding a baby in each arm, bloody and exhausted but they are both smiling. I look at both of them in shock. "What happened?" I ask. " The babies decided to come while you were gone. I tried to call you but you didn't pick up, so Laura and I had an emergency homebirth. " Tom says. "I'm so sorry, my friend and I were fighting and I didn't hear my phone. Are you both alright?" They both nod their heads at me. " I was just about to call 999 when you walked in. " Tom says. I grab my phone and call 999 and relay the information to the dispatcher. A few minutes later two EMTs arrive and load Laura and both babies on to a stretcher. Tom and I jump in my car and we follow the ambulance to the hospital. When we arrive a nurse takes both babies and goes to run tests to make sure they are ok. Laura is wheeled into triage to be examined. The doctor looks her over and gives her a clean bill of health. We then wait for word on the babies. The nurse comes back and hands Tom a little pink bundle. He looks at the nurse and asks, "Are we able to run a DNA test?" The nurse looks at him for a moment then says " Of course. Let me grab a blood sample from both of you and from the babies and we will see what we can find out. " The nurse leaves for a minute and then comes back to do the samples. A few hours later the nurse comes back and says, "Baby girl is a match to both of you. Baby boy is a match to only one of you." The nurse says. Tom holds his daughter and he has the biggest grin on his face. Baby boy I notice has eyes like Laura. I watch Laura hand the baby to me. I notice she seems lost in thought almost like she wants to cry. Tom hands their daughter to her and I watch her look into their daughters eyes. "We need names for these peanuts." I say, smiling. "Charlotte Elizabeth Felton Charlie for short." Laura says. " I love it. " I say kissing her head. "What about little man?" Tom asks. " Timothy Walter Burton Junior. " I say. I notice Laura nod her head in approval. I notice Laura has tears in her eyes and I can feel a few come to my eyes as well. I then grab my phone and start typing. "What's wrong mum?" Laura asks. " Just letting my mum know the babies are here so she can let the kids know. " I say. I then notice the nurse has returned to the room. "I just came to get names for the little peanuts." The nurse says. " Charlotte Elizabeth Felton and Timothy Walter Burton Jr." I say.
Tom P.O.V.
Laura and I are at home with Helena rearranging the bedroom for the baby. We wanted to wait until they were born to know the gender. Mum are you alright?" Laura asks Helena. " I'm alright sweetheart, listen I have to run out quick, I'll be back soon. If you need me call me. " she tells her. I know she is afraid to leave us alone since Laura could have the babies any day. "Mum we'll be fine." Laura says, reassuring her. We listen as Helena heads down the stairs and out the front door. We listen to her car and it pulls away. I suddenly start to notice Laura looks uncomfortable. "Laura, are you alright?" I ask worried. " I'm fine. " she says but I notice she is wincing in pain. "I'll be right back." Laura says. I watch her walk to the bathroom and shut the door. I hear her get violently sick. I then hear her yell "TOM I NEED YOU!!" I race to the loo where I find Laura bent over the bathroom sink in pain. I also notice she is bleeding. I take her hand and lead her back to the bedroom. I lay her on the floor where she suddenly kicks off her pants. I grab my phone and try calling Helena but she doesn't pick up. I then notice I can see the top of the baby's head. I run to the bathroom and grab a bunch of towels. I lay one underneath Laura and prep one for each baby. I look at Laura and she is fighting the urge to scream and is trying her best to breath through the pain. " What do I do? " I ask her. "Catch the baby." She tells me as she pushes. With one push the baby's head is out. Laura talks me through how to deliver the shoulders while I encourage her. " Come on Laura, one more push, that's it, keep going, almost there. " With each push I see the baby slowly emerge. Laura gives one final strong push and the baby is out. I grab the baby with the towel and hand it to Laura. Laura uses her finger to suction out the baby's nose and mouth and the baby let's out a loud cry. Laura lays the baby next to her as another contraction hits. I grab the other towel while still encouraging her. "Come on Laura that's it, you can do it, one more push." I watch as the baby slowly emerges. Like before Laura helps talk me through how to deliver the shoulders and with one more strong push the second baby is out. I repeat the process of grabbing the baby and handing it to Laura as she suctions out the baby's nose and mouth. I then hear the front door as I lay the second baby is Laura's arms. " Just letting my mum know the babies are here so she can let the kids know. " she says. I then notice the nurse has returned to the room. "I just came to get names for the little peanuts." The nurse says. " Charlotte Elizabeth Felton and Timothy Walter Burton Jr. " Mum says.
