Laura P.O.V.
I awaken the next morning to Charlie crying. I climb out of bed and walk into her room and pick her up out of her crib. I change her nappy and her clothes and bring her back to the bedroom. I lay her on her play mat on the floor and get dressed quickly. As I'm getting dressed, I can hear mum getting sick in the loo. I exit the bedroom with Charlie and head downstairs as mum follows behind me. "How are you feeling?" I ask her as I sit Charlie in her swing in the living room as I walk into the kitchen to make her a bottle.  "I'm feeling okay. " Mum answers. I then notice her looking at the flowers I left on the counter from the night before. "Where did those come from?" She asks. "He came by last night to check on you and dropped those off." I tell her and I notice her slightly smile. I watch her pick them up and sniff them. She then walks to the hall closet as she takes down a vase. As mum walks by I take in her appearance and notice her outfit. She is wearing a flowing black skirt that goes past her knees and is wearing a flowy green top. Normally I would pay mum's outfits no mind but for some reason she looks different this morning. Mum walks back into the kitchen with the vase in her hand and puts the flowers in. I then watch as she retreats to the living room. I can hear her talking on the phone but pay it no mind as I go to get the other kids up for school and daycare. As I walk back downstairs with Sylar, I can hear mum getting sick in the loo which I am finding odd. As mum exits the loo i look at her and ask, "Are you alright?" "I'm fine." She answers calmly acting like it's no big deal. I watch her walk into the living room and I can hear her talking on the phone again. I get the kids ready for school and daycare as Tom walks in the door after being gone filming. I kiss him quickly and hurry to finish getting the kids ready and then Tom follows me out to the car to help me bring the kids. Once we drop off the kids we return to the house and find it empty. I then find a note. Went out to run errands with my friend. I'll be home later. Love, mum.
I look at Tom and say "Mum hasn't been herself since the last time she was with him. She's been getting sick a lot and just overall hasn't been herself." Tom looks at me and says " I'm sure she's fine. I'm sure if something was seriously wrong, she would tell you." Tom says kissing me. A few hours later I notice mum return home from her errands with bags in her hands. I watch as she retreats to her room with the bags without saying so much as a word. I follow her to her bedroom and ask, "How did your errands go?" "They went fine. " She answered, looking at me briefly before going back to taking something out of a bag, but what it is I can't see. "I'm going to go order Tom and I some lunch what do you want to eat?" I ask. "Anything is fine." Mum answers. I grab the menu from the takeout restaurant and place the order. I leave to go pick up the food. When I return, I find mum sitting on the couch looking at something when I enter the room, she quickly hides whatever she is looking at. "What's wrong?" I ask getting suspicious. "Nothing's wrong." Mum answers, but I notice she looks nervous. "Let's go eat." I say walking into the kitchen with mum following behind me and we sit and eat. As we sit, I notice mum only pick at her food. "Are you sure you're alright?" I ask getting worried. " I'm fine." mum answers and I notice her tone is harsh. I look at her and ask "What is going on with you lately? You've been really nauseous and throwing up a lot and you've been really moody. Are you sure there is nothing you want to talk to me about?" I notice mum looks really uncomfortable. She looks at me and then looks down at her food and I swear I can see a tear roll down her cheek. I get up from my seat and walk over to her and ask her "Mum what's wrong?" "I can't tell you." she says which shocks me. "You know you can tell me anything." I say to her. "Not this I can't." Mum says, which I find odd. "Why can't you tell me?" I ask her. "I just can't." Mum replies. She then rises from her seat and takes her food container and places it in the refrigerator and walks upstairs. "What is so important that mum can't tell me?" I think to myself as I walk upstairs behind mum. I watch as she retreats to her bedroom, and I swear I can hear her crying. I follow her to the doorway of her bedroom, and I watch as she takes something out of the drawer of her bureau. I watch as she looks at it for a few minutes and then puts it away. She turns around and gives a slight jump when she notices me in the doorway. "What is going on with you? What's with all the secrets?" I ask getting annoyed with her. "It's nothing and why are you snooping around its none of your business." she retorts getting angry. "It is my business if there is something wrong with you that I need to know about." I retort. Mum stops and looks at me for a long moment and then looks down at the floor. Again, I swear I can see tears rolling down her face. I walk over to her and wrap my arms around her in a hug. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you; I just wish if something was bothering you that you would tell me." I say. Mum looks at me and dries her eyes. She then walks to her closet and takes out a bag. I notice nothing unusual about it. I watch as mum pulls a black skirt and a white top. "It's cute." I tell her, smiling at her. Mum looks at me and smiles. I then watch as she puts the clothes back in the bag. "What are the new clothes for?" I ask getting curious. I notice mum looks uncomfortable. "I can't tell you." she says again, and I notice she looks somewhat ashamed. "Why can't you tell me?" I ask her. "I just can't." she answers, looking more uncomfortable by the second. No matter what I am bound and determined to figure out what is wrong with mum.
