Laura P.O.V.
The next day mum goes out to run errands. She left the house at nine am and said she would be back by noon. She texted me at eleven-thirty and said "On my way home love you." I text her back "Can't wait to have you home love you too." I then look at the clock its two pm. "Where are you mum?" I think to myself getting worried. Luckily Helena's mum is here to help us watch the kids. I decide not to tell anyone about my worries out of fear of scaring everyone. When it gets to be three pm and mum still hasn't gotten home my phone finally rings. I see it is mum "Maybe she was just running late or was stuck in traffic." I think to myself. I pick up my phone and answer. "Hello?" I ask worried. "Hi is this Laura?" a male voice asks. "Yes." I answer even more worried. "I'm sorry to tell you that your mum was in a bad car accident and is at the hospital." I drop my phone and run to Tom "Tom I need your car keys my friend was in a car accident and I need to get to the hospital." I say in a rush. Tom looks at how panicked I am and says "Do you want me to drive you?" "No thank you I appreciate it but I really have to go." I say, I can tell he knows I'm not being completely honest but I think he knows I'm trying not to panic too much or worry Helena's mum. He hands over his car keys and my phone off the floor. I race out of the house like a bullet and jump into his car and race to the hospital faster then a firebolt broomstick.
When I arrive I see doctors trying to frantically work on mum. I try to get close to her but a nurse is holding me back. I can tell she is banged up I just can't tell how bad. "Come with me honey." a nurse says taking me gently by the arm and leading me to the waiting room where I collapse in a chair and cry. "How bad is she hurt?" I ask through my tears and hiccuping. "We don't know right now, we do know her car is totaled. She was wearing her seat belt which helped and her airbag deployed which also helped. As of now all we can see is a broken rib and some bruises. We have her sedated so we can work on her. I'll update you when I can sweetheart." she says, leaving me a shattered mess in the waiting room. All I can do is cry and pray.
A few hours later I awake in the hospital waiting room to the nurse from earlier shaking me. "We've moved your mum to a room if you want to see her." she says. "How bad are her injuries?" I ask concerned for my mum's safety. "She is okay, like I said before she has a broken rib and we did x rays and found her ankle is sprained so she will need to stay off it for a while but she will fully recover. She is sedated right now so she can sleep and start to heal" "Thank you." I say as I follow the nurse to mum's room. I open the door and walk in and see mum asleep. I walk in and pull a chair up next to mum's bed and fall into an uneasy sleep.
Helena P.O.V.
I decide to go out and run a few errands. I leave Laura and Tom at home with the kids. I get into my car and head into town. I shop around for what I need but can't find what I am looking for. I grab my phone and text Laura and tell her I will be home shortly. Just as I am heading out my car is hit and I black out.
