Part 14

Theo's POV

I was almost drifting off to sleep when I heard the front door open and what sounded like a babble of people came into the house, making me groan. Rose was asleep next to me, whilst Cosmo slept on top of me and I was so close to being asleep with them that whoever just got her better be ready to get their arse beaten. The only way I could have been more comfortable right now was if I was in a bed rather than a sofa and Scarlett was with me. 

I could faintly make out Scarlett scolding the people, which made a slight smile curve onto my lips, despite my distaste for the intruders "shh, the kids are asleep, including the biggest one" she told them, making the group laugh as my smile returned to a pout. Who is she trying to kid? She is undoubtedly more childish than me, so that accusation is a lie, plus is it just plain rude. 

"How is she? I know you said she was ok, but it's not every day you get a phone call saying your big sister is in the hospital" I heard a familiar voice ask, which had me groaning. I can not believe she is here right now. I specifically told her she was in a time-out. If she thinks she can manage Annie on Friday because of this, minor hiccup which I am now going to call this whole experience, then she has another thing coming. 

As if she could sense that Kat was back Rose stirred next to me. Looking up at me with a tired smile as she snuggled into my side, only to shoot up when Kat spoke again "where is she anyway?" At the realisation that she really had heard the idiot's voice, Rose was up and running into the hall, making me chuckle, which in turn made me wince as I got up off the sofa. Placing a still-sleeping Cosmo in his playpen, even if I think it's a mini prison cell, before following after Rose. Melanie went home not long after we got back, saying she would be back in the week to check on me.

I was surprised when I found her frozen between the living room door and the front door, only to chuckle a little when I saw the reason. "It's ok Flower, that is just my cousin Annie, she is really nice. A lot nicer than Kat and I that's for sure" I joke, making Rose run over and cling to my leg when she realised I was now behind her. It made me smile that she was seeking comfort from me so I picked her up, despite the pain in my side, and held her close. 

Although it didn't last long as a scowling Flo walked over and snatched her from me, making the pair of us whine "what was that for?" I asked, trying to get Rose back, who was also sulking, although I gave up when Flo gave me a sad look and darted her eyes down to my stomach. The action just made me roll my eyes as I walked past her grumpily. I understand what she is getting at but I'm not made of glass, I can still do things.

"Theo, are you ok? I was so worried when Kitkat mentioned you got hurt" Annie asked, shoving Kat out of her way before running over to me and giving me a tight hug which had me suppressing a groan. My ribs have obviously not got the memo that we are moving on from what happened and acting like we are fine from now on. "I'm ok, I just took a bit of a tumble down some stairs and had to get some stitches. The scar will just add to my charming looks so it's all ok. I will be good as new by Friday, I'm sure they won't find it too hard to airbrush it out in the photos. I am so excited for you. This is going to open so many doors for you" I explain, moving swiftly on to something happier as I pull away from her, giving her my best smile in reassurance. 

"Excuse me? You are still planning to go to the photoshoot on Friday? My sisters will definitely understand if you need to reschedule" Lizzie interrupted, making me once again roll my eyes. "I know that. But I am honestly ok. My schedule is packed so it's now or never really for this shoot. I already committed to it, and Annie flew out here for it, everything is good to go. Including me. I will ring your sisters in a bit and explain about my face so they have a heads up, but we should be fine" I explain to the worried brunette before finally looking at my little sister properly.
