Part 20

Theo's POV

After the talk we just had I can tell Scar has a lot on her mind, so I decided now is a great time to fill her in on the plan I have for today. "Come on Love. There are important people waiting for us" I tease, trying my best to lighten the mood as I give her a quick peck before opening the car door and hopping out. I watch with worried eyes as she takes a second, seemingly staring off into space, before finally getting out of the car, and joining me by the door as I wait for her to let us in. "I'll give you the spare key when we get in. I honestly can't believe I haven't given you a key yet, that is such a brain fart" she muttered, making me burst out in laughter at her choice of words. "Thanks love" I manage to get out once my laughter dies down to a chuckle as I kiss her cheek.

Walking into the house I head straight to the living room, leaving my guitar by the stairs, planning to take it up to a guest room I had been using as an office, later. "Where are my favourite people" I call out once I am standing in the doorway, chuckling as Rose comes zooming over to me, Cosmo following on shakey legs. Although it's my legs that become shakey as I listen to Rose "Mama, your back" she cheers.

My whole world pauses at her choice of words before a shit-eating grin works its way onto my face. "I am Flower Princess, and I missed you so much" I coo, picking her up for a tight hug now that she is within arms reach. "Can I come with you next time? You are so much more fun than Mommy" she whines, making me chuckle when I hear a gasp behind me. "Rose Dorthy, I am offended" Scarlett announces dramatically, making me burst out in laughter, which quickly turns into a pout when Scarlett steals the child in my arms.

"Give me back to Mama" Rose whined as soon as she was in Scarlett's grasp, making me study Scarlett's face, waiting to see her reaction, although to my surprise she didn't look even remotely surprised. Now I know she is an actor, but something tells me she knew about this. As if reading my mind Scarlett sets Rose down giving her a quick kiss on the forehead before telling her to go tell her Grandma that we are back as she turned to me.

"It started straight after you let, 'when is Mama coming home?' 'Will Mama be back soon?' 'Can we call Mama' I didn't tell you because I thought you would rather hear it from her. I was half expecting her to blurt it out over the phone, but then again you know she loves to be dramatic" she explains, my smile growing at her words. Although my attention didn't stay on Scarlett long as a little tug started on my jeans "mama" being chanted over and over. "He started around the same time. He saw a photo of you on my phone and just kept babbling the word over and over. I think he picked it up from Rose but I'm not even sure at this point. He could just be a genius and worked it out himself" she says with a shrug as I scoop him up, holding him against me tightly.

"Is it ok with you?" I ask, loving that they are calling me this, but wanting to make sure I wasn't crossing any borders with Scarlett. These are her kids and I don't want to step on any toes. "More than ok. You have been there Mama since you came into their lives Theo, it's one of the many reasons I love you. You deserve to be recognised as their Mama by them" she says softly kissing my cheek before kissing Cosmo in greeting.

"Great, in that case, I am stealing our kids" I announce, giving her a wink before turning back to Rose who has been waiting patiently for me to focus on her again. "Flower, how would you like to spend a day just us, well us and Cosmo?" I ask, watching as her smile grows impossibly big. "A Rose and Mama day?" She asks barely containing her excitement as she bounces on her spot, "well a Rose, Cosmo and Mama day, but yes. How does that sound? We can go to our secret spot" I tell her, laughing as she runs away and up the stairs yelling as she goes "I just need a minute" making me chuckle as I turn to Scarlett. "I better go supervise what she picks to wear or she may freeze, I'll get him ready while I'm up there. You should hang out with your Mam or Lizzie for the day, we probably won't be back till this evening" I tell her with a smile before following Rose, who is long gone.
