welcome to my first ever oneshot! inspired by an irl experience i had one time...

𝚍𝚎𝚊𝚛 𝚍𝚒𝚊𝚛𝚢,

It's a shame this year that our school doesn't allow us to give classmate preferences; Ryujin and I are best friends, but because our friend group is of a decent size we didn't get into the same homegroup this year. It's a real shame because, (and I hope she doesn't see this!) I've recently developed a bit of a crush on her, too.

In fact, I didn't even get into most of my classes with her! The only one I'm in for this entire year is specialist mathematics, or "spec", for short. Honestly I don't really know how I even got in, but I guess I'd have to put it down to the fact I study hard. Ryu and I are quite different in that way, she's amazing at math - which makes sense considering she's an INTJ. I know it's a generalization, but they tend to be good at that sort of thing ㅋㅋ

Anyways, something funny happened in spec today!

I have this thing I do on Spotify - every month I create a playlist with all the songs I'm loving at that moment. This month it's dominated by SNSD's Forever 1 album, for example ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I make them public because my friends seem to like the songs I enjoy, but I also give them names because I find it boring to plainly call them things like "August", or "On Repeat". So, I called this month's playlist "that one person", and I'll tell you how it played out...

♥ flashback to the lesson ♥

*•.¸♡𝟥𝓇𝒹 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝓅𝑜𝓋♡¸.•*

"Alright, so that's the work I'd like you to complete today," said the teacher, "if you haven't finished it by the end of the lesson it's homework, so I better not be hearing any chatter."

Chaeryeong took out her bluetooth headphones, because she had recently discovered she was hardly able to concentrate without music.

She logged into her laptop, opened up Spotify, and - almost reflexively - clicked on her monthly playlist, "that one person".

Ryujin happened to be sitting right behind her. Because of the different classes they often walked in at different times meaning desks next to each other would be taken up, so they had to settle for the seat behind the other.

Although perhaps not as dependent on music for concentration as Chaeryeong, Ryujin also enjoyed listening to music to be more productive, and so she also went to her Spotify to put something on shuffle.

Looking to her Friend Activity panel menu, however, she remembered it was the beginning of August - "I forgot it's time for her to make a new playlist," Ryujin thought.

Leaning inwards to read the playlist name more closely, she noticed the title.

"'that one person'?" Ryujin cocked her head sideways in confusion.

The movement was slight, but Chaeryeong noticed it in the reflection of her laptop screen; Ryujin was sitting just behind her.

"Crap, she saw it..." Chaeryeong sighed to herself internally, "is she curious who it's about?"

Then she smacked her forehead.

"Of course she's curious, if there's anything more like her."

*ping*

A iMessage popped up in the corner of her screen, suddenly.

I still can't believe it right now - I find it so funny how she didn't even consider that it could be about her!

She's so cute, what a pabo ㅋㅋ

Well, I guess it's good that she didn't find out, right? It's kind of funny, still though.

I should go to sleep - I'm going to have to get up early to finish the math things from earlier because I was too distracted in class...
