as promised, this month is gonna be all about christmas thingssssss!!! are you guys excited for christmas? or if you don't celebrate it, are you doing anything fun this end of year? i hope you're excited for this festive season, and that these next few oneshots help get you into the holiday spirit.

The first of December marked the official beginning of the Christmas season, where people decked their homes with decorations and lights so warm the glow would spill onto the streets in an inviting, golden haze. To any passer-by treading steadily on the ankle-deep Seoul Winter snow, the glimmering tree would stand unapologetically proud, silently greeting you with its comforting sparkle as you continue on your journey through the silky sleet.

That day, the snow had been falling constantly from dawn to dusk, and wives Ryujin and Chaeryeong had spent much of their time staring calmingly out the window, watching the flakes drift down to the ground. While the snow had finally reduced to a steady shower of rain by 10pm, the weather was still looking chilly.

"It's pretty cold tonight," Chaeryeong stated as a thought, staring out onto the street from the front window of their house, "even though it's not snowing as much anymore..."

"It is cold, jagi," Ryujin agreed after a moment, "do you see that Christmas tree in the house across the road over there?"

Chaeryeong followed her wife's finger to a warm looking house a door down from their opposite neighbour. "Oh! It's so beautiful! The huge bows on it, and the tinsel draped so perfectly... how come we haven't put ours up yet?"

Ryujin turned her attention away from the house to face her wife. "You're right! It's the first of December tonight, after all. Do you want to decorate it now? Or are you tired... we can do it tomorrow, it is kind of late?"

"I'm a little tired but I'll be 'right," Chaeryeong assured, "come on, babe, let's go!"

And she took her wife's hand before running to her storeroom, Ryujin close behind.

Back in the room at the front of their house, where they were watching their neighbours' trees not long ago, they dusted the fake snow off their hands after assembling the synthetic tree's components.

"There we go..." Ryujin said as she stood up from spreading out the last of the bristles, "it's taller than I last remembered-"

"Haha, I know right," Chaeryeong agreed, "well... do we have the ornaments? We can start hanging them."

"Yes, they're over there," Ryujin pointed to a large clear acrylic container filled with assorted red and gold baubles, "I'll pop some music on for the background..."

And to the beautiful sound of a million unique voices singing, 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas', the couple set to work on wrapping the tree in golden tinsel, and hanging bows and ornate baubles on the tree...

Half an hour had passed, and Ryujin and Chaeryeong had finally finished hanging all the decorations on the tree.

"Wow, it does look pretty gorgeous!" Chaeryeong sighed contently, stepping back to look at the tree, "it's good too, 'cuz I'm pretty ready to go to sleep now."

"Oh, but we still have to do the fairy lights...?" Ryujin cocked her head in surprise, "and the star, it's your turn to put that on this year, jagi!"

"Oh, I'm so sorry, how did I forget that?" Chaeryeong exclaimed, putting her hands to her face in shock.
