Every Christmas, Ryujin and her girlfriend, Chaeryeong, would make an advent calendar for each other. Chaeryeong would fill up all the odd-numbered drawers with things for Ryujin, and Ryujin did the same for Chaeryeong with the even numbers.

This year was no different. So far, Ryujin had received some lovely deep sage green nail polish, a pair of cat socks, her favourite chocolate, and even a handwritten love note. In return, she'd given her girlfriend things including a gorgeous claw clip, a wintery floral scrunchie, some hand cream and a candle.

As it was Chaeryeong's turn to open the calendar that evening, she was expecting something again lusciously scented, as her girlfriend knew she enjoyed them. However, tonight was the 24th of December - the last drawer of the calendar - and Ryujin wanted to make it extra special.

Ryujin and Chaeryeong's relationship had been going on since ICY era - around 3 years now - and over the years their love and attachment to each other had certainly grown - the members instantly coming to love them as a couple.

Thus, it was in much consultation - from colours and stones to "what's her ring size?" - with her fellow ITZY members that Ryujin had went out and bought the most stunning gold engagement ring, with a 1 carat rounded alexandrite stone in the middle. It had cost her many a sacrifice, but she and her members agreed it was more than worth it (Yuna would tell her every time she became hesitant that there was no way in hell Chaeryeong could say no).

Tonight, the advent calendar sat on the kitchen island just adjacent the living room wall, and inside, the engagement ring lay snug in its black velvet box in the last drawer labelled '24'.

"Ahhh, I'm so excited unnie," Yuna jumped up and down as she held Ryujin's wrists tightly.

"I'm sure it's gonna go amazingly," Yeji assured her, "look at our little Ryujinnie growing up so fast, she's already about to propose!"

Ryujin just laughed nervously. "Aww, thanks guys... I hope it does go well."

Lia smiled her comforting eye-smile and patted Ryujin on the shoulder. "It absolutely will, Chaeryeong loves you so much and we all know that."

"Exactly!" Yuna agreed, "it's gonna be the best Christmas gift."

The members nodded in agreement.

"Well, when's she gonna be back from dance practice?" Yeji asked.

Ryujin checked her phone, "I just got a text from her, she said she's gonna be back in a sec."

"Ooooh okay!!" Lia exclaimed, now getting excited, "so the plan is we hide behind the living room wall, right? And then when it's over, we'll come out and surprise her?"

"Yes.... if it all goes to plan," Ryujin nodded nervously, "but if it doesn't... I guess you guys could just continue to chill as you normally do?"

"Aww, I literally don't think I'm gonna believe in love anymore if that happens," Yuna sighed, "like I keep telling you, there's literally no way that could happen with how much she talks about you though."

Everyone laughed, but then with the sound of a key unlocking the front door, Ryujin hurried Yeji, Lia, and Yuna behind the wall - and the noise reduced to nothing.

"Hello??" Chaeryeong said in a tired, yet adorable voice, "anyone home?"

"Chaeryeong-ah!" Ryujin answered back casually, "I'm in the kitchen."

Chaeryeong went to dump her things in her bedroom, before heading out to the kitchen to greet her girlfriend.

"Jagiyaaa!" She sighed contently as she walked into her girlfriend's already open arms for a hug.
