After the second night of moving to somewhere more civilised, I thought I would get used to it pretty quickly. I mean, I wasn't usually one to struggle too much with deviations from the normal routine - but I guessed this camp wasn't the case.

Since confessing to Chaeryeong two nights ago (when we were still sleeping in tents), it had somehow made my confusion worse when I thought it would make it better. And so, last night and tonight I'd been waking in the pitch dark, worried because I hate not feeling secure. Worried because, even if she didn't hear, I wasn't sure if I spilled too much. Worried if I made a mistake.

I mean, Chaeryeong still hadn't said anything to me about it, and as she was someone who didn't like to let anxiety fester, she probably would've brought it up by then if she heard me.

With all these thoughts racing through my head, I decided to go out to the bathrooms. I didn't want to wake up my dormmates from tossing and turning, especially not Chaeryeong (who I was sleeping with again - parallel from me on the bottom bunk). So I silently slipped out of my sleeping bag, put on my ugg boots and hoodie from two nights ago, and snuck out through the door.

Last night and tonight I'd been waking up to the sound of the door closing, and footsteps on the gravel outside. And, both times I had looked over to my left and seen Ryujin's bed empty beside me. However, knowing from the previous camps we'd been on together, she wasn't one for who interrupted sleep was normal. It only occurred when something was bothering her.

While the first time I let it be, I was getting a little worried. And so, I too slipped out of my sleeping bag, shuffled around until I could find my slides, and shut the dormitory door behind me...

The air outside was a comfortable sort of cool, and there was a slight breeze conversing with the trees surrounding the dormitory block as they swayed (the dorms were in units, laid out in a sort of hollow square in which was open to the outdoors). I didn't initially know where to find her, but looking over to the bathroom cubicles parallel, I could see a yellow glow leaking out from underneath the privacy gate.

"The lights are automatic, so someone has to be in there," I thought to myself.

Thus, making sure the door was closed tight, I made my way over across that grass-and-gravel square.

While she wasn't actually using it, Ryujin heard footsteps approaching the bathrooms, and so she hurriedly sat up and flushed the toilet. Walking out of the cubicle, she turned to face the exit when she saw a face.

"Holy shit-" she jumped, startled, "Chaeryeong you scared me!"

"Oh my goodness, I'm sorry," Chaeryeong rushed over, looking concerned.

Regaining her composure Ryujin said, "it's okay, it's okay... But why are you here?"

"I could ask the same!" Chaeryeong exclaimed, before realising, "we should be more quiet."

"You're right."

Ryujin slipped past Chaeryeong so she could make her way to the sink. "I'm sorry, did I wake you up?"

"Yeah, but it's no problem," the other replied, "I kind of needed the bathroom too anyways, you know, I might just go now actually. Wait for me."
