I was sitting down to lunch with Derek and Spock when Captain Pike contacted me about going with to get the new recruits. We would fly to Iowa and be back tomorrow. I agreed, Nik and Jordan would accompany us. Pike had been teaching Jordan to fly. We met up an hour later and left. As we landed in Iowa and got off the shuttle we couldn't stop the smiles and looks of amazement that came to our faces seeing the soon to be Enterprise being built.

Pike looked to me and handed me a tablet. I looked it over as he spoke, "They have agreed to every inch of space you requested. Though it took a bit more discussion when it came to the wolf and your dragon" he nodded at Smaug around my neck. Since leaving the last world where he couldn't be around me all the time, he rarely leaves my neck now unless home. "I reminded them that they agreed to all this when you arrived and it was non negotiable. Plus it didn't hurt you footed half the cost for the damn thing." He laughed I smirked.
"Yes will I wasn't going to be cramped into a small space for who knows how long." He shook his head grinning, "I get to come visit your garden often though right?" "As always our door is open to you Christopher. Now we best get to the bar. I do believe your recruits are getting in a bit of trouble. Oh and the poor local being beaten happens to be James Kirk. You might want to try convincing him to join Starfleet. While you do that we will put the recruits to bed." Nik and Jordan laughed shaking their heads at my mother tone and sound as they called it. Pike just grinned and nodded. Though he looked old enough to be my father, I treated him more like a son. He tolerated me for it. We arrived to chaos at the bar.
Nik Jordan and I escorted the recruits back to lodging before retiring to bed.
The next morning the recruits arrived and were boarding the shuttle. Pike was waiting when we arrived. I chuckled, "Do not worry he will be here." We three went to the pilot section of the shuttle and sat down. Soon I smiled hearing the sound of Kirks bike.
