Chapter 14: Kobayashi Maru and Disaster Strikes

STARFLEET ACADEMY- U.S.S. ENTERPRISE
SAN FRANCISCO- VULCAN SPACE
WYNTER'S POV:

Over the last three years the crew cadets studied hard. I and Bones grew close. We had been dating. We even completed the first bonding. But were still taking it slow. (Don't worry you will get some smut soon🤣🤣)
Bones had even become good friends with my mates and guards. He had also accepted the full mark and blessing. He was a Great Horned Owl and a Wolf.
Uhura and I bonded as well. It seems she and Spock have sibling bonds to me.
As the days grew closer to the disaster that would be Vulcan I insured they were prepared. I had sent a delegation of Vulcans to Camelot. They found an area on the second Island that would be perfect for New Vulcan. They had begun construction with magical contractors a year ago. They being the logical beings they are understood I could not prevent the loss of their planet, but were grateful I was helping saving as many as possible. Before that day arrives they had already sent some groups to settle in there. To make the portal flow easier. I had a single portal tied to the planet. Once it's destruction began that portal would close so it was not adding to the draw from me.
I had taken Sarek and his wife aside. I explained what Spock had to see and believe for him to reach not only his potential but the friendship he needed with Kirk. Sarek understood and had no problems with my logic, especially when he learned he would not loose her. Amanda was upset understandably so. I gave her a ring.

I told her the ring is tied to my quarters on the Enterprise. That the moment she begins to fall I will have activated it. It will bring her aboard the ship. She will be a guest there until the battle was over. Then she could be reunited with her husband and son. She finally gave in when Sarek pointed out it was for Spock.

Today I was standing speaking to Bones out side the academy when Jim came up grinning.
He told us he was taking the Kobayashi Maru test again. Bones called him an idiot. I tried to warn him not to do anything foolish. He ignored me of course. I shook my head as he ran off. Bones wrapped an arm around my waist.
"He's going to be an idiot isn't he?" He asked. I just laughed and nodded
"When isn't he?" Damon asked coming up to us.
We all just grinned.

The next day my mates and I joined Spock in observation for the test. Normally Dae didn't join us, but he said he wasn't missing this. We watched as the test went on.

Damon grinned through it. At least he didn't laugh at Spock's confusion, mainly because I shot him a look.
This wasn't going to be fun. I sighed and left with Nik and Jordan, we went to command time for a discussion.

I explained that when we are sent tomorrow, and that we will be sent, all ships must drop out of Warp before Vulcan Space, that they could NOT be allowed to enter. Only the Enterprise was safe to do so. I told them the loss of life would be catastrophic if they did not listen. I don't think they will, and I can do nothing as I will be helping Vulcan.

The next morning the academic assembly was called. Nik, Damon and I were sitting with the admirals as it was technically our rank we just refused command. It was time for Jim's trial.

Soon we were all head to our shuttles. I kissed McCoy before leaving the assembly and told him I would see him on board. We went in the first shuttle with Pike.
Once on board we separated. My two guards and I went to medical to help ready it before launch. Nik went to Security, Derek went to Engineering to help, while Damon went to help in Linguistics. Once things were settled we joined the Officers on the bridge for launch. I had a chair near Captain Pike. Nick, Damon and Derek. Stood behind me. Jordan and Nat near the elevator doors.
Time to have the inaugural launch of U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701.

After the journey as we began to get close to Vulcan, I told Pike I would be in my quarters, that I will be holding portals for an Hour. My five came with me. Derek, Damon and Nik would be there lending me support and Jordan and Natasha would be monitoring the situation and guarding the room. As I sat and initiated all portals on Vulcan I also activated Amanda's ring as soon as they tried to beam her aboard she would be brought here.

While we did this the ships began to arrive. Death told me that Command had not listened.

After I closed the portals right before the destruction of the planet and I made sure Amanda was on board I collapsed in exhaustion. Nik placed me in bed. Damon and Derek staying with me. The three were drained as well.
Nick went to medical he nodded subtly to Sarek reassuring him. He then checked on McCoy.
"She is fine I know you felt the drain. It was from here saving the majority of the planet in one go with portals. She will be fine in a day. Come see her when you get a moment. It will make you feel better seeing her mate."
He sighed in relief and nodded.
Not seeing Spock he moved to Sarek speaking low to him.
"She is in our quarters safe and sound no injuries. Once the battle around Earth is done you will see her again then. We don't wish to tip of Spock."
He nodded grateful.

Meanwhile on the bridge.

It was closer to two days when I was better. I made it back to the bridge in time for Kirk's return.

It took everything in me to not interfere in their fight, not win I knew this was needed.
We were now headed to Earth. Time to rescue Pike and save Earth.
