RHAENYRA COULD FEEL AEGON'S HANDS MESS ABOUT WITH HER HAIR as he spoke passage by passage from the book gently. The Princess couldn't help but think back to when her mother had done something like this when she were a little girl but soon ended after her seventh name day. She won't lie, she had missed this kind of treatment, but she wouldn't admit it out loud.
She'd felt herself relax a couple of minutes ago when he massaged her scalp and started to take strands after strands to make something out of her long wavy hair. His voice actually soothed her, she felt as though there were small cotton balls filling her brain – it felt so fuzzy, but it was a nice feeling.
The only sounds she could hear were Aegon's soft murmurs, the sound of the fireplace crackling and the rain that had began to drop bouncing off of the tiled windows. She shut her eyes for a moment; rubbing her baby bump comfortingly and smiling when she felt the small kick of the baby pushing against her hands.
Little did Rhaenyra know that Aegon felt a similar feelings that she was experiencing. He'd hummed to himself and felt a little smug that he out of his siblings have had their sister the longest, he'd even gotten to do her hair and read to her and she actually liked it. He couldn't wait to see their jealously when they hear about it, he looked over her shoulder to see her hands caressing her stomach with a little smile on her face. He smirks and continues to read this interesting book; this was his first time reading it, and he could now see why she liked it. He did find books boring, but if he read them to her, he felt himself enjoying it a little too much.
His voice was like a sweet melody that silenced every thoughts, Rhaenyra would have dozed off if it weren't for the doors to Aegon's chambers slamming open. The Prince's voice was cut short as he and Princess looked up to see Aemond looking wide eyed at the scene in front of him.
Rhaenyra suddenly felt a little self conscious, she pulled away from Aegon causing him to glance down and look back up at Aemond with a glare. "Ah, brother, want to join us?" He asks, "I was just reading a book to Nyra." Now, Rhaenyra does not react – well she tries not to at the nickname coming out of his mouth.
"I was here to ask if you had seen her because Mother is looking for her, but I see that she is already here." His eyes run over the whole sight in front of him, their little sister was on the ground sitting on a pillow, while his older brother was on a chair braiding her hair and reading from the book that sat on his knee.
"What does mother need her for?" Aegon questions as he gently pulled Rhaenyra back to finish his masterpiece, "can it wait for a moment?"
"'Twas only for a talk, she wouldn't say." He trails off staring at his brother and then back to the vulnerable looking Rhaenyra. "What chapter are you on?"
"Chapter three – House Unities." He said as he ran his fingers through the forgotten strands, "are you staying with us for a bit."
"I will for a couple of minutes," he says sitting down across from the both of them. "Though, I am terribly busy with training very soon."
"We won't keep you long then, I'm just finishing up on her hair, and then finish up the book." Aegon says, "then I'll get her to Mother."
Aemond let's out a hum and watches Rhaenyra just sit there squirming ever so slightly, he listens as Aegon began to read once more as he twists and turns, he glances off to the side and stares ahead into the fireplace.

A couple of moments later, Aemond left to go to his duties and Aegon had tied the bow in Rhaenyra's hair. "You look beautiful, Sister." He says as he helps her up, she stares at him with a small smile, she didn't know what to say, but she was just being polite. She'd felt uncomfortable whenever Aemond would glance at her with the softest look with the tiniest smirk.
Aegon noticed she looked slightly down, "come, we will go to mother and afterwards we shall read some more!" He exclaims with a bright smile while taking her hand gently and walking out of his chambers.
Rhaenyra let Aegon drag her down the halls, he'd entwined their fingers and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. They'd walked down the halls to the Queen's chambers once again, and stopped outside where Ser Cristen glared at the Princess. Rhaenyra sent one back, but quickly hid it when Alicent practically threw open her door.
The Queen stared the Princess down, she glanced at her now braided hair, some strands that were missed crowned her face. She noticed the way Aegon held her hand, and smiled at her son. "Thank you for taking care of her, Aegon." Rhaenyra watched Ser Cristen's eyes widen and glance at the Queen in question.
"I'll leave you to it," Aegon kissed Rhaenyra's cheek before walking away leaving his sister with his Mother.
Alicent smiles at Rhaenyra, "Tis just a quick chat about some thing, you are not in trouble." She says, "though, it is important."
Rhaenyra was pulled once again into the Queen's chambers, she ignored the looks she had gotten from both guards and put full attention onto her old friend. She had kept Daemon's words in mind, she knew not to get too close especially in Green territory. She wasn't allowing herself to fall for their nice act, but it did feel good to be treated like this, it reminded her of the childhood she didn't really have after having to learn what it is like to rule. She had stopped being coddled by the time people had saw her as the Realms Delight.
Alicent's little touches reminded her of her Mother's, she kept silent about how Aegon and Aemond acted like the protective siblings she'd never had, and Helaena; she may be a little confusing and hard to understand, but her light touches and smiles make her relax. She didn't have a clue on what not/to do, she wanted to rely on them, but Daemon's words were embedded into the back of her head.
