RHAENYRA WOKE UP NEXT TO HER SLEEPING HUSBAND, her eyes stung and her nose was clogged, she managed her eyes with her hands and remembered what went down a couple of hours ago. She'd been tucked in by Aegon and Aemond after letting the fuzzy feeling take over and let herself go. She could hear her heart pound loudly within her ears – a warm feeling pooled inside her chest; the two Prince's had stayed until she fell asleep and Aegon making up a random story up with the help of Aemond to get her to sleep.

The silver haired Princess sat up and jumped hearing the thunder clash outside the night sky, the rain pitter pattered upon the window. She tried her hardest to fall back to sleep, but she couldn't, she was terrified for the court hearing that was in the morning.

She knew that she was going to be forced to bend the knee, she knew that no one would really stand up for her with their words. Rhaenyra was happy that she had everyone's support, but she felt like she needed more backup and for the first time in a long time, she needed her father. She really needed him.

She carefully slipped on a robe welcoming it's warmth and slipped on some slippers before grabbing a lit candle, she glanced back at Daemon once more before walking out of their chambers.

Rhaenyra was tip toeing down the halls – trying to be very quiet as possible. She didn't want to be caught by any guards or her brothers. Wait, she paused herself, she called them her brothers. Huh, she shrugged her shoulders and continued to make her way to her father's room.

She sneaked her way into his room and let her eyes gaze over to the bed that was hidden behind the sheer curtains, she placed the candle down on the small table and headed over, she pushed the curtains gently and slowly made her way to the bed.

Rhaenyra was saddened to see her father like this, he was so frail and so broken, she felt like the worst human being at asking him to do this for her. He breathed heavily into the air. She sat on the bed as tears began to pool in her eyes once more, "it is Rhaenyra, father." She says as he began to whisper Daemon's name.

"Rh – Rhaenyra." He mutters not opening his eyes.

She smiles sadly, "the song of ice and fire do you believe it to be true?" She questions watching as he just groans and becomes more breathless.

"Aegon's dream." He whispers causing Rhaenyra to lean in and take his hand as her tears began to pour.

"You told me it was our duty to hold the realm united against a common foe." She shakes her head, "by naming me heir divided the realm." She paused listening to him moan softly, she glances down at their now entwined hands. "I thought I wanted it," she whispers before staring at her father's face once more.

Rhaenyra cried silently into their entwined hands, she then let's go and sits up a little straighter with sniffles escaping her. "But the burden is a heavy one....it's too heavy." She whispers the last part, she tries to compose herself but was failing miserably at it.

Viserys seemed to choke on his words causing the Princess to stare at him, "pl-ease. My only child." He whispers into the air, Rhaenyra shakes her head.

"If you wish me to bare it defend me, and my children." She couldn't make out what he was whispering and again shook her head and sobbed silently into her hand before placing it upon her head. She breathed heavily and stared up at the ceiling – choking on her breaths as she tried not to let her father hear her break down. Though, once again, she failed miserably. She sobbed heavily into her hands, she felt the weight of the family lay upon her shoulders.

She took a few deep breaths, "r-remember when you told me that – that I am the one who needs to keep this family from tearing itself apart? I– I will try, I swear to you father, everyone has been kind....but I am unsure of what to do next...p-please don't leave me." She chokes at the end before crying heavily once more, "I can't do this alone..."

The doors to the King's chambers squeaked open, but Rhaenyra was too busy in her own thoughts to notice. She felt a gentle hand lay on her  shoulder, she swiftly turns her head around and sees Alicent giving her a small smile, and a look full of sympathy. "Let's let your father rest, Nyra." She whispers as she takes the crying girl away from the dying man, "tis alright, I am here, shh." She mutters as she takes Rhaenyra back to her shared chambers with Daemon.

Though, Alicent calms the Princess down before walking in with her, she sat her down on one of the stairs and wiped the tears from her face. "No more hiding those feelings of yours away," she orders and gives the silver haired girl a hug.

Almost an hour had passed and they both were still sitting on the ground, Rhaenyra's meltdown had stopped and she was no longer her sniffling mess, she had began to doze off on Alicent just like she used to when they were little.

"Come Princess," she ushers her up and helps her inside the chambers. She looks at the sleeping Daemon who is dead to the world and tucks her friend in, "good night, little one." She whispers before placing a gentle kiss to her forehead and walking out, but not before looking back with a smile.

She'd walked all the way back to her own chambers with a sad smile glistening her features. She'd overheard Rhaenyra talking about how she were the one to stop the family from tearing itself apart and she thought it must be true. She looks down at the ripped page Rhaenyra had once ripped out and hugged it to her chest, she had to make things right.
