THE NEXT DAY WAS A DULL DAY FOR RHAENYRA, she'd woken up with a slight ache to her head. The dark spots and the cloudiness had cleared from her gaze, she no longer looked small or lost, she had gotten changed into one of her red dresses and placed a tunic over herself. She put her hair into two braids before walking over to Daemond who had brought some breakfast for them to share.

She sat down and reached for the toast and scraped the strawberry jam onto the slice, "have you been feeling alright?" Daemon asks as he drinks from his cup watching his wife raise an eyebrow at him, "it is just whenever we came here you have been acting weird. I come back to the chambers and you are already sleeping or you are with the Queen."

"Yes, I am alright, my husband." She says as she tucked into her slice, "she wanted to talk to me about myself having guards to protect me while I am around. She claims I am more vulnerable now that I am with child, and she was very upset when her father interfered and told the guards that I do not need their protection."

Daemon snorts, "sounds to me that they are all spying on you." He connects eyes with Rhaenyra, "I know she gave you her word for help, but do you not think that it is weird to suddenly do nice things for you?" He says, "dong trust her words, she is only doing this to get Aegon on the throne."

His words cuts into Rhaenyra's heart, she bit on her tongue and felt pathetic that tears had gathered into her eyes. She didn't know who to believe anymore, Alicent had apologised and she had claimed to forgive her, why? Last night she felt so small and wanted to rely on her old friend just like the old days, but she also felt like what Daemon was saying was the truth. Why else would they really be doing this? Nobody really cared for her feelings. She felt frustrated with how sensitive her hormones were acting and just wanted to leave the room. She decided she was finished eating and asked Daemon to walk her to the gardens.

The two walked out of their chambers watching a maid clean everything up, Daemon muttered things from under his breath when guards started following them from behind; one of them being Ser Criston Cole. The rogue Prince held onto his wife as he was walking with her through the halls, they soon came to the doors that she had tried to walk through yesterday but was stopped by her half-brother. Daemon gave her kiss before muttering that he was going to see his brother again, Rhaenyra wished him a good day before walking through the gardens with the four guards behind her.

As she walked through the gardens and into the courtyard she spotted Princess Rhaenys at the Weirwood tree, she began walking over to her cousin with a small smile on her face. The older woman turned around at hearing footsteps and spotted Rhaenyra with guards behind her. "Princess Rhaenyra," she said curtly narrowing her eyes at the younger woman.

Rhaenyra gave her a small smile before turning to the guards not meeting anyone of them in the eye, "could you give the Princess and I some privacy, please." She says fiddling with her sleeves as she pulled them over her tightly, she watched the guards walk away from them but still stood watching at the entrance causing her to sigh.

"Do you feel threatened of me, Princess Rhaenyra." She asked sarcastically while rolling her eyes at the girl, "I have never seen so many guards follow one person before."

"No, cousin." She said feeling a little nervous, "the Queen thought it would be a good idea for me to have as many of them watching me. She said it was because I am with a child, but Daemon thinkings they are passing information."

"Daemon is smart," she said. "Unlike you."

Rhaenyra shakes her head feeling a little frustrated at her stinging tone, the woman had never liked her, but she still wanted to question her. "I wondered for many an hour what your purpose was in coming here." She said now looking up at her, "wether you'd speak for or against Ser Vaemond, but then I realised you intend to advocate for yourself." The two of them have a small stare down while the wind whistled through both of their ears, "this is no fair proceeding it is a trap. Set by the Queen and the hand to proclaim my son illegitimate."

She was cut off by Rhaenys, "yet you did worse than that with Laenor." She said looking straight at Rhaenyra with a small hurt look embedded within her eyes, "did you not?"

The young Princess looks away and takes a deep breath, she shakes her head feeling some kind of remorse from within her. "I loved your son," Rhaenys eyed her up and down, then scoffs turning away. "You may not believe it to be true, but I did." She says walking up to her cousin again, staring at the side of her face. "I did not order his death," her chin quivers, "nor was I complicit in it, I swear this to you."

The woman once again turns to Rhaenyra looking tired, giving her a small look that didn't completely reach her face before she began to walk away.

"I'll make you an offer," she said turning to Rhaenys who now was looking at the young woman in front of her with a questioning look. "Back Luke's claim and let us betroth Leana's children to mine. Baela will be Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and her sons will be heirs to the throne, Rhaena will rule in Driftmark and the seat will pass to her and Lucerys' children in time."

"A generous offer," the woman says thinking about it, but looks at the Princess with disdain. "Or a desperate one."

Rhaenyra's eyes fill with frustrated tears that haven't yet fallen, her head became clouded again but she managed to stay confident. "What does it matter?"

Rhaenys snorts, "it does not matter." She walks up to Rhaenyra with a small smirk sprawled out on her face, looking behind her to the guards who were staring intently at the two. "You can bargain with me all you like, bring my granddaughter with you to soften my resolve, but tomorrow the Hightower will land their first blow, they'll force you to your knees and I must stand alone." She said giving Rhaenyra one lasted withering look before turning on her heel.

Rhaenyra stares after her with tears now falling down her face, pathetic, she thought about herself. Her violet eyes stare up at the sky as she groans with agitation, her emotions were all over the place, is it true what Rhaenys had told her? Where they going to force her to her knees? So, Daemon was right then like he always is, they're only being nice to her to soften her up and squish her like a bug.

Oh, but how wrong she was. She wipes her face and swiftly follows after Rhaenys who'd already disappeared from everyone's view. She scowls and bites her tongue to stop herself from shouting profanities, she could hear the guards rushing after her as she storms out of their gazes.

She needed her father. Again, pathetic wasn't she? Needing her ill father to help her face something she should be doing by herself.....some future Queen she was.
