Chapter 11

Kat POV

It has been two days since I had the date with Shawn and I can't get that kiss out of my head.  The scary thing is that I think that I am falling for him.  Alexa has been texting me nonstop since the date and I haven't texted her back.  I rather give her all the details in person so I decided to wait for her at my locker.  After five minutes, she came to my locker.

"Girl, why have you been ignoring my texts?," she asked.

"Sorry, my phone died," I lied.

"I call bullshit," she said.

"Why bullshit?"

"You don't wanna give me the details of your little date with Shawn."

"What do you wanna know?," I asked her.

"All the dirty little details," she said excitedly.  I told her everything that happened that day from how he acted with me, to how me made me feel comfortable,  and the kiss.  When I told her about the kiss, she freaked out and begged me to give her the details.

"Was he a good kisser?," she asked.

"Lexa, I'm not going to answer that!," I told her.

"Why?," she whined.

"That is none of your business," I said.

"I'm your best friend.  You have to tell me," she said.

"Fine, if it'll get you to shut up."

"Yay!"

"In terms of being a good kisser, he was," I told her.

"On a scale of 1 to 10 how good was it and why?," she asked.

"A 10 because the way he kissed was so different to me."

"How?"

"The way he kissed me was so passionate and I never had a guy kiss me the way he did," I told her while trying to hide the blush that was forming on my cheeks.

"Wow, he must've put all the other guys you kissed to shame." She said, "and here comes Shawn."

I looked to where she was pointing and saw Shawn walking with Justin.

"Hey Kat," Shawn said.

"Hi Shawn," I said back.

"Wow, you can actually feel the awkward sexual tension," Justin said.

"Justin, do me a favor," he said.

"Yeah, sure," he said then Shawn put his hand over Justin's mouth.

"So what's going on with you?," he asked me.

"Nothing much," I answered.

"I heard that Addison's throwing a party tonight," he said.

"Are you planning on going?," I asked.

"Maybe. I probably just won't drink there.  Don't wanna get black out drunk like I did at your party," he said.

"Well I might be going as a plus-one."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I wasn't really invited but Alexa was."

"Damn. She still has that grudge against you, huh?" He asked, "OW! Really Justin?."

"Did he just bite you?," I asked laughing.

"Yes he did. Why did you bite me, dude?," he said looking at Justin.

"Well licking your hand didn't help so I bit you,"Justin said.

"I'm this close to wanting to punch you right now," he told Justin.  Then the bell rang.

"I guess I'll see you at the party then," I told him.

"Yeah I guess you will," he said then started walking to class.

Shawn POV

Is it just me or is Kat really awkward with me ever since the date?  I feel like she's been that way since I kissed her.  If I see her at the party then I will have to talk to her there.

"What's up with you?  You're acting a little weird since you talked to Kat," Justin said.

"Nothing," I lied.

"I'm your best friend. You can tell me.  What's on your mind?," he asked.

"I think Kat's been acting weird with me ever since our date," I told him.

"Yeah I figured."

"First of all, why did you even point it out?"

"Sorry, force of habit. I don't understand you said the date went well."

"It did.  We had a great time together and the kiss felt amazing.  I just don't get it."

"Maybe she's still trying to process everything," he said.

"What do you mean by that?," I asked.

"I mean that you were the first real date she had and maybe she's trying to process her feelings about you,"  he explained.  I was starting to think that Justin was right because she actually told me that she never had a real date before because guys just want to hook up with her.

"Hey my advice is to just talk to her. Maybe she'll give you a good explanation on why she's being the way she was with you.  Talk to her at the party so that you can feel at ease," Justin told me.  

~Party time~

There were many sweating bodies in the living room along with many other people drinking in the kitchen.  Justin and I made our way to the kitchen to get something to drink.  I decided to get a bottle of water from the cooler that was set on the floor.  I kept my eye out for Kat hoping to see her with Alexa because she told me that she was going as a plus-one.  I wound up spotting her in the living room with Alexa.  She was wearing a short-sleeve cheetah print shirt that was cropped which showed off the tattoos she had on her stomach along with black distressed jeans and a pair of black biker boots.  Her hair was straight and cascaded down her back just like the way she always wears it.  After admiring her for about a minute, I got up the courage to talk to her.  I walked through the sea of people that were there and made my way towards her.  I tapped her on the shoulder and she turned to look at me.

"Hey, what's up Shawn?," she said

"What's up with you?," I asked her.

"Nothing, just having fun at this party.  I see you're drinking water," she said.

"Yeah, decided not to drink today," I told her.

"Did getting really drunk at my party made you change completely?"

"I guess you could say that.  I was wondering if we could talk somewhere," I said.

"Do you want to somewhere more quiet?," she asked me.

"Yeah, let's go," I said as I took her hand to escort her to a corner where there was less people until Addison decided to make an announcement to the whole entire house.  

"Hey does anyone want to play 'Seven Minutes in Heaven'?," she asked.  When she asked that there was a group of people that agreed.  I had no idea how to play that game until Kat explained the rules to me.   Everyone gathered on the floor and Addison had an empty bottle in her hand.  She placed it in the middle of the circle where we all sat.  Kat decided to sit right next to me.  Then the game began.

Couple after couple were going in and out of the closet when the bottle landed on them.  I was so nervous on who I was going to end up with but I was hoping I'd end up with Kat.  

"Your turn, Shawn," Addison said. 

"What?," I asked.

"Its your turn," she said.

"Oh, sorry," I said as I turned the bottle to let it spin.  The bottle spun around for a minute until it landed on Kat.
