Kasey Xingqiu, a 15 year old college student, who decided life was just as boring as eight grade maths.

Her life felt just as quiet as a night out in the woods, except you took out the peaceful and calm part, and added stress and claustrophobia to the mix.

"What is it worth graduating college if you don't even know what the excitement of something feels like? Exactly: nothing." she always told herself.

Well, recently her motto fell down a couple of notches in its accuracy factor.

(y/n) Guale, the 18 year old kid who seemed to be in a polyamorous relationship with two girls, Annabeth Chase and Thalia-who didn't seem to have a last name.

They all had arrived at Táles Academy last semester, and they didn't seem to be as able to keep up with the others as much. Hell, she even heard they had Dyslexia.

Of course the rumors were fake. Who in a million years would apply to a prestigious school, worthy of its awards and confident in its graduates, all the while knowing you can't even really read properly.

However, they had a weird magnet for trouble. And that same magnet, always dragged Kasey and her best friend into their shit.

Kasey honestly hated that she was actually having fun around that type of people.

Kasey stared at herself in the mirror for the few seconds that took for the water from the sink to group in her hands.

Her long, dark brown hair was a mess, her green eyes were droopy and accompanied by heavy eye-bags, her face was all filled with bruises and drops of her own blood, specially her mouth and her nose.

What even was that? she repeatedly asked herself. A Hydra? Those can't be real. Humans wouldn't even exist if such things roamed around the world rent-free.

She shook her head and splashed the cold water against her face, wincing in severe pain at the chilly feeling and the stinging in her cuts.

  "Fuck," she muttered.

  "Language," Maxwell scolded.

"Leave me alone, Stacy," Kasey grumbled.

Maxwell gasped in indignation. "Oh, okay, Xingqiu. You wanna be rude, let's be rude! Why didn't you just tell me you had those ... powers?"

Kasey licked her bottom lip. "I said I don't want to talk about that."

"Well, you will," Maxwell scoffed. "I can't just ignore the fact that you can magically summon a bow out of nowhere and fight like you've done it for your whole life, like, I don't know, some kind'a trained assassin."

Kasey sighed. "You've ignored the fact that the Guale guy was the one who killed a ten headed Hydra, almost by himself."

"Well, I don't know who he is. I didn't build a friendship with him for the last five years of my life. I don't have expectations that I think he'll meet. I don't know all of his deepest, darkest secrets. We are friends, not me and that Guale kid."

Kasey gulped down a bunch of dry saliva and turned off the running cold water of her bathroom sink. "You can at least pretend like it didn't happen. It's better that way."

"It's better if we can trust each other," Maxwell corrected as the tears started to drip down onto the ground.

Kasey's eyes widened and she hurried to wipe away Maxwell's tears with her hands. "No, it's okay. Don't cry... Please don't cry. I-... I'm a shitty friend, I know."
