The drive back to the motel was quiet and awkward. Sam didnt want to make conversation so he just stared out at the window. Castiel had told them that he need to do something and he would meet them at the motel in a couple of hours.

"Why didnt you pick up the damn phone when I rang you?" Dean questioned Paige, his voice raised but not at a shout

Paige was pacing "I was in the middle of a conversation Dean, I didnt pick up because of that"

"A conversation?" Dean replied "With who?"

"Castiel, actually" She began to cough and leaned on the table to steady herself

Sam walked foward and Dean rushed to her side "You okay?" He asked, all anger vanished from his voice.

She stopped coughing and turned around to face the brothers "Yes Im fine. Whats the month?"

"Umm. August I think" Sam replied

"Damn" Paige muttered, she looked up "Hello Cas and Uriel"

"Good morning Paige, I see your already suffering the consqeuences" Uriel replied, his voice monotoned

"What does he mean?" Sam asked, realisation dawned on him "The mark, you have to have grace"

Paige nodded "Its going to have to be a lot stronger this time boys"

"Heaven has noticed. Well the whole system has noticed"

"What does that mean?" Dean questioned

"It means Im on demon radar a lot more than you two are" Paige replied, she looked at the angels, Uriel's face not showing emotion while Castiel refused to meet her eyes. "Ive got to go back to that place again havent I?"

"Correct" Uriel replied, his hand outstretched.

Paige turned to face the brothers again "I'll be gone two hours tops"

"Paige. Wait" Dean raised his voice but she disappeared with Castiel and Uriel.

Dean started pacing. "There something she's not telling us Sam"

"You think?" He replied sarcastically "Whats important at the moment is that she doesnt die. Dont you think?"

"Yes" Dean replied "But we need to find out the truth"

Paige was strapped to a table, in a disused hospital. She watched as Uriel stepped foward and grabbed her wrist. His fingertips enclosing and touching the mark of an indigo child.

She felt the grace in her blood, looking down, the blue carried through her veins and up her arm. Darkness invaded her vision and she couldnt fight it.

Paige woke up in a metal framed hospital bed, stood over her was Castiel who smiled when she looked at him.

"Where's Uriel?" She asked

"Gone. Back to heaven. I wanted to watch you and return you to the Winchesters. To make sure your safe"

Paige groaned as she got out of bed and sat on the edge "I am safe Cas" She smiled "But my arm aches."

"With the amount of power you have now. You can do what most angels can" Castiel explained to Paige, she nodded

"Lets get back to the Winchesters"

Sam and Dean were asleep when Castiel and Paige entered. She was pale as she reached for a cold water but it fell out of her hand and she cursed.

Dean reached for his gun and pointed it at Paige, when he realised it was her he lowered his gun and nodded at Sam who lowered his too.

Dean got out of bed and sat Paige down at the table, Sam passed her a cold bottle of water which she took and thanked him for it.

After a couple of minutes of silence. Dean cleared his throat, Sam glared at him as if to say 'not now' but Dean ignored him.

"Paige" He began "We need to know-"

"Everything" Paige finished

Sam cleared his throat. "As much as you feel the need to tell us"

"So everything" Paige repeated "What should I start with?" She smiled sadly "My birth or the first time the angels came to see me?"

With no answer she started

"I was born in November, the 7th November. Normal baby, as far as anyone could tell. I grew up as a normal kid, went to high school and I was going to go to uni when I bumped into a man. He grabbed me and knocked me out. When I woke up I was in a room, tied to a chair. The man had black eyes and I remember being terrified, he tortured me for information about things I never knew existed. About angels, prophets and indigo children. He wanted to know my powers and I kept telling him I had none, until one time. When he was torturing me, I managed to untie myself and open the door, I made a run for it after knocking him out and I made it" She cleared her throat "At least I thought I made it. I was stupid. I was 16 and didnt know where I was so I shouted and screamed for help and thats when I saw Cas" She looked over at Castiel who appeared moments earlier, without Sam and Dean noticing.

"He said he could help me and I didnt believe him. I thought he was going to be like the other man that I had met. He followed me and told me that he was an angel. I asked him to prove it and he showed me his wings and I saw his true form. I was scared but I accepted this. Cas offered to heal my wounds and I let him, he took me to heaven and I learnt all about who I really was and what indigo children do" She took a sip from her bottle, Sam and Dean were sat at the edge of the beds staring intently at Paige, Castiel looked sad.

"I was returned to my home and I spent a month with my family. By that time there were all sorts of things coming after me. So I left and became a hunter. I met Bobby and he helped me a lot, Ive learnt most of what I know off him. Thats it really"

Castiel cleared his throat "However, when she spent her time with the indigo children. She bonded with them and now she's in danger"

"I was coming to that bit Cas" Paige bit her lip "Its a hard subject y'know"

"Your in danger?" Dean questioned, he looked from Paige to Castiel.

"Demons have killed all the indigo children. I am the last one" Paige told Sam and Dean "Cas and heaven think that I am in danger and want to protect me"

"We'll protect you aswell. I mean weve came across demons before. Weve came across Crowley before. Come on, he's the King of Hell"

"I dont need protection. Ive lived most of my life alone, Ive protected myself" Paige shouted "Stop acting like Im a bomb about to explode. Im not a fragile princess who's going to cry because her family's been killed" She paced "Im not a stupid little girl"

Dean went to talk "Dont" She pointed a finger at him "Say that this is going to be fine. Because it isnt. I know what goes through your mind Dean, Ive seen how it ticks away" She turns around and stares out the window "I need time" She opens the door and steps out into the breeze. Paige closes her eyes and when she opens them she finds herself in her hometown.

Dean runs outside and returns "Shes gone!" He turns on Castiel "How is she gone? Has she got enough mojo to do the teleportation thing?"

"Yes Dean, Im sorry" Castiel replied "I can try and find her"

"No dont" Sam interrupted "Let her calm down. You heard what she said. She needs time to think."

"She needs angel supervision" Castiel muttered "Just to watch her, dont interact"

"Sorted?" Dean asked Castiel as he becomes focused in on the room again

"They are trying to track her, yes"

"London" Paige muttered "My true hometown"
