"wake up sleepy head," chan whispered while shaking the boy gently. he was unsure of his headspace, so he always played it safe & woke the boy up in a gentle, fun way.

felix took a sharp breath in & stretched for a long while before finally opening up his eyes. the sunlight shining past the cracks of the blinds burned felix's eyes, causing him to rub them with the back of his hand excessively.

chan watched him the entire time, silently adoring the boy on top of his chest. as much as he loves little felix, he really hoped felix was big for today. or at least for the portion of the day that counted the most.

"good morning sleepy head! you ready to wake up," chan asked, laughing a little as the boy frowned slightly.

felix whined, a bit upset. there were some mornings where he didn't like being woken up. today happened to be one of them.

honestly, it was mostly due to the fact that felix had about three different nightmares the night before, causing him to lose a lot of much needed sleep.

chan felt horrible for the boy. it was nights like last night that would cause the boy to become too scared to sleep the following night. it was hard to watch the boy he loves struggle so much. he wanted felix to be happy always.

"mmm wans sweepies mowe minutes," little felix said, plopping his head back down on chan's chest. felix had a tendency to place his fingers in his mouth & bite on them softly, & so he did just that.

"lixie, baby, how many times have i told you it's not good to bite on your fingers," chan questioned, a bit upset felix wasn't listening.

it didn't take more than a few seconds for felix to burst into tears. he just wanted to go back to sleep, but now, he felt he was being scolded to the max.

chan sat up & pulled the boy into his lap facing him before holding him tight. he didn't mean to upset the boy, but it seems he did just that.

felix refused to hold on to the older, keeping his fingers in his mouth as he cried loudly.

"lixie, channie didn't mean to make you upset. channie just wants you to not be in pain. if you bite your fingers they will be in pain later," chan explained, rubbing the boy's back. "channie doesn't want to see his lixie in pain. he wants his baby to always be happy & healthy!"

felix looked up at chan, fingers still in his mouth, a sad look on his face. chan couldn't help but pout at the younger, letting out an 'aweee, my poor baby.'

chan began wiping felix's tears away, brushing the little's hair out of the way. even though tears kept falling from the younger's eyes, chan didn't stop gently wiping them away.

"look baby, channie has a paci for you. remember we bought this a little bit ago? this is for when you want something in your mouth," chan said as he leaned over & grabbed the clean pacifier along with a colorful yellow necklace. "and look baby, i got you a chewy necklace for when you need something to chew on, yeah? that way your fingers stay all clean & won't get wet!"

felix looked at both of them for a second curiously. he wasn't sure if felix remembered them shopping for a pacifier, seeing as when they did he was falling asleep in chan's arms. but he was glad when felix took the paci from his hand, doing a small happy stim before showing it to chan.

"yeah, it's just for you baby," chan smiled at the boy.

felix's tears had finally stopped, & the little placed the pacifier in his mouth, happily sucking on it.

even though felix showed no interest in it yet, chan still put the chewable necklace around the boy's neck. he then grabbed felix's wet hand that was covered in his saliva & wiped it with a tissue.
