Chapter 8

BUILD'S POV

"What are you doing here in the middle of the night?" ask Bib sitting next to me on the poolside.

I decided to go there after putting our son back to sleep after showering.

Because I can't sleep, I think, I drank too much beverage from the bar and now I'm feeling blotted.

I look at him and he is still wearing his clothes from earlier.

"How did you know that I'm here?" I asked instead of answering him then look back at where I was looking before he comes.

I'm just staring at the moon's reflection from the pool.

"You're not in our room, and I thought you lied to me when you come home. It's good that I checked in Bibu's room. Sprite told me that you wanted to come here." He explained and lay down on the floor next to me.

I'm not expecting him to come and find me either.

I thought he will sleep without me after coming back and taking shower.

A very deep sigh can be heard from me and look to the night sky.

"Hey, what was that for?" he ask with worry poking my side.

Since this morning after buying Jeff's gift from the mall, something was bothering me.

Because I accidentally meet my batchmate in high school there, and he was asking me if I can go to our mini-reunion with our batch.

He even added me to their GC but I didn't open it yet, because I know I will see his name in there.

Now I'm kicking my legs on the water like a kid because I can't think properly.

"Bui, what's the matter?" Bib said and get up and move closer to me.

I look at him confused and ask "Should I go?"

Now he looks back at me with the same face because of what I asked him.

"Go where?"

"To the reunion,"

"Family reunion?"

"No, my school batch reunion"

"Why not? Just go, have some fun and meet your friends before," he told me excitedly and even lay down on my lap.

I didn't push him and let him use my lap as his pillow.

"But I will see him there," I whispered while carefully brushing his hair with my fingers.

I wanted to scold him too because he let me go without asking me if I wanted to go or not. Or asking me why I'm frustrated right now. And what's the reason behind it?

At some point, I didn't tell him anything about the story of our past. So I think I'm at fault too.

"Who are you talking about?" he asked while staring at me.

"My ex," I admitted to him.

He didn't say anything and just stare at me, so I did the same.

"When you saw him, are you going back to him?" he asked, but this time his voice was a little bit sad.

"Why would I go back to him? He's married now," I told him while pinching his nose.

"That hurts Bui," he said trying to push my hands away from his face.

After that, my hands went to his hair again brushing then and massaging his scalp from time to time.

He stayed still while I'm doing that to him.
