Chapter 13

BUILD'S POV

"Just call me when you are done," Bib gestures to me his hands call after dropping me off where I and Mile were going to meet up.

"Okey," I shortly answered him and get down the car.

One week before I finally get the courage to call Nodted to inform him that I want to meet Mile.

So here I am at the place where we started everything.

Mile was already there sitting waiting for me.

"Hi," I greeted him with a shaky voice.

My heart was beating like a drum because of agitations.

He looks at me sideways and gestures for me to sit next to him on the mat.

After sitting, no one dares to say anything. The only thing you can hear was the ocean waves and the strong breeze coming from the north.

We stayed like that for a while.

"Sorry," we said in unison when we finally got a chance to talk.

Both of us laugh at what happened, but I stop when I realized how much I miss his laughter.

I look away because I can hold back my tears anymore.

"Bui, I followed you there as I promised to you," he said with a big sigh at the end of his sentence.

"What? When?" I ask with a lump in my throat.

"But everything changed when I get there. It hurts seeing you with your son in your hands smiling happily. I want to run to you and ask you how about me. How about our promises? But I don't want to ruin that smile on you, so I watched over you without your knowledge until I finally accepted that you are not mine anymore."

The guilt inside me was killing me after his revelation.

So everything was my fault.

"Bui, don't blame yourself for what happened to us," He said and pulled me into his arms.

"It's my fault, everything is my fault," I said sobbing in his chest.

"No Bui, it's my fault. If only I could turn back the time and tell the world I have a beautiful boyfriend. All these things would have happened to us. And I'm sorry for everything that I've done in the past. I know I am a cowardly person, that I didn't fight for you, for our love. But everything changes now. I'm also in love with someone else. That you are now a past to me. A past that gives me a lesson to become a better person like I am now. Thank you, Bui and I'm sorry. You can hate me as long as you want. But that's the truth,"

I pushed him in an instant when I realized what he told me.

"You are in love with someone else, or you are just saying that because of what I did?" I asked him in disbelief.

"It's true Bui, he helps me to overcome what happened to us. And then I realize that one day I'm falling for him."

"No, you are just saying that because I hurt you. You can say whatever hurts word  Mile, but not that you love someone else, please. I'm begging you." I kneel in front of him saying those words to him.

"Bui, don't do this. I know and you know that you don't love me anymore."

"I still love you," I insisted

Then he grabbed me on my nape and try to lean for a kiss but stop mid-way when I move my head backward.

"See, I told you already. You don't love me anymore Bui. You are just guilty because of what you did. But I can't blame you, because I know you are happy with your family now." he said smiling at me genuinely while caressing my face.
