Chapter 17

BUILD'S POV

One week since Bib started ignoring me after that day Mile came without notice.

He came just to give me an invitation for Nodted anniversary of his Bar.

He didn't stay long that day after handing me the invitation he left and didn't say anything.

And today is that day so here I am sitting on the bar stool waiting for them to come out.

Bib is also invited and I saw him already with Jeff and Ta at one of the tables nearby.

We came here separately because I'm still mad at him for ignoring me.

"Enjoying by yourselves?" Nodted leaning on the bar counter facing the crowd.

I want to get mad at him too because he is the reason why Bib is ignoring me now. If only he is the one who came and give me that invitation that day. Bib and I wouldn't be like this today, ignoring each other at all costs.

I did not answer him and took the glass of wine and chug in one go.

"I thought you stop drinking already," Mile also came and sat beside me but facing the crowd too like Nodted.

Still, I didn't utter a word to them but I'm aware of what they are saying.

"Bui, I'm going to entertain my guests now, Mile look after him, or take him to his husband. He does not look okay to me,"

I want to answer him it's because of you, but he left already me with Mile.

"Why are you not at your husband's table? He looks like he's enjoying the night without you," Mile informed me after a long awkward silence.

When I glance at Bib's table, Mile was right, he is enjoying flirting with someone else.

And they are happily smiling at each other.

"Give me one more glass," I ordered the bartender in front of us.

I hated what I saw, and I wanted to go to them and make a scene, but I don't want to ruin this day for my friend.

"Just go and claim your man Bui. Don't hide your jealousy," he mumbled, playing with the drinks in his hand.

"Why you did not bring your boyfriend with you?" I ask him instead

"He's at home resting, the doctor said he needs some bed rest for a while," he answered immediately.

"Does he know about us?" I hesitated to ask him.

I know we shouldn't talk about us now, but I want to change our subject. I want to forget about Bib for a second.

Because his name and face are occupying my mind lately.

"Yeah, I told him everything and he wants to meet you. If that's okay with you," there is a hesitation in his voice.

"Mile can I ask you a question? Are you okay now?" I glance at him and he smiled at me genuinely, like he is not affected by us anymore.

"I guess, it's hard but I'm trying to forget everything. And Apo really helps me a lot these days." he seems excited now every time he mentions his boyfriend's name.

"Good to hear that, as for me. I already accepted everything now. That you and I are no longer can be together. And let's just leave the past behind 'cause I don't want to bring them up again," I honestly said.

I don't want to lie about my feelings anymore.

Mile's name in my heart was a long time gone. And the only thing that I felt for him before was only guilt.
