both of them made their way back to the living room, wearing big smiles and talking to each other about little things. entering the room, their parents looked at them with a teasing smile as well. "why don't both of you take a seat?" taehyung's father motioned them to sit on the sofa. taehyung thought that maybe their parents had to say some thing to them, "is there something you want to say, dad?"

"well, both of you look like you have become friends, so i think it's time we let you know." taehyung's mother looked at the everyone in the room, earning nods of approval before going back to what she wanted to say. "y/n and taehyung's grandmothers were bestfriends, that's how our families are friends. your grandmothers promised to wed off their grandchildren to each other, before passing away. they wanted their families to unite as one. and we want to ask both of you,  y/n and taehyung, if you want to fulfil your grandmothers' last wish. "

y/n was shocked, and needed to process what she just heard. the guy she just talked with, was probably going to be her husband, the person she had to spend her whole life with. taehyung on the other hand, got emotional hearing about his late grandmother, who was very dear to his heart. wanting to get her fulfilment, he wanted to try for her. "my grandma must've wanted good for me, i would like to try fulfilling her wish but i think we need to get to know each other a bit more for that. can we get time for that, please?" he asked for their understanding, this was not easy for him, and y/n.

he wants to try?

y/n's mom comforted him, "son, take all the time you need. you don't have to take any decisions under pressure. it's both of your life after all, we would accept whatever both of you like." taehyung looked at y/n before holding her hand softly and asking, "y/n, would you like to try with me? together?". y/n was getting overwhelmed but held herself together before replying, "yes, i would."

this doesn't feel like anything wrong, i am taking the right decision. it's not like i'm saying yes to marriage, it's just courtship. i can say no if i don't want to marry him, it'll be alright.

her reply made the room lighten with joy as their parents smiled with relieved looks. they hugged each other before turning to their children, everyone standing up. "we are proud of you two, finally grew up to make wise decisions for yourself." y/n's father patted their head as they smiled.

seeing them off as they bid goodbyes, y/n stood next taehyung as the parents were talking. "see you soon, fiancé " he whispered in her ear making her shy with reddened cheeks.

"nothing confirmed yet, dear courter."

"we'll see that as time goes by, sweetheart."

S-SWEETHEART? LORD HAVE MERCY, WHAT IS HE DOING TO ME?

y/n maintained deep eye contact with him as a voice calls, "taehyung, let's go."

she bowed to the parents one last time before saying "good bye, taehyung." and looking away, trying to avoid his gaze. "stop staring at her like that, son." his mom said making y/n laugh inside but she couldn't as this was enough embarrassing already.

yeah, tell him to look away please

"just couldn't keep my eyes off her, sorry. let's go" his mom giggled with him as they left. leaving you astonished, while your parents watched everything.

how could he even do that infront of his mom! shameless!

her mom and dad were finding it too adorable. "aw, our y/n likes him so much that she is shy infront of him. they look great together, god bless." they talked among themselves but their words reached y/n's ears as she shot them a glare. terrified, they let out an uncomfortable laugh before hurrying off to their room to save their life.

he's a bit charming, nothing wrong, but why is he so straightforward? i don't know what to do when he flirts like that. it's not like i don't like it but why can i not contain myself in front of him?
