Chapter Twenty Five

25: "Cheer up"

(APO POV)

I don't know what went into our brains that made us agree with Jimmy's weirdness.

He watched something on TV and won a prize.

Jimmy tries to think of something weird to get us on the show. Pepper can make himself cry in one second and Neo can type with his toes better than with his hands, but only for a few seconds before he gets a cramp. Auo shyly says that he has a skill, too, and he plays "Butter by BTS" on the flute with his nose.

Jane has her belly button on the left and not the middle.

Ah, what did I just watch??

"I won't join your weirdo," Jimmy gave me puppy eyes.

Boom wanders in wearing shorts and a tank top and drinking a milkshake, and everyone cringes since it's raining outside. Boom says he gets hot easily.

"Boom our hopes to win," he smiled mischievously.

"What will you do?" I asked Jimmy and he just smiled.

"We are different, the contest is coming up, so we should practice hard," I told them.

"I hope we win because we have a great opportunity," said Pepper.

"How can we not win?" asked Neo.

"Win or lose, at least we did our best, so let's just enjoy it and stop thinking negative thoughts," said Auo.

"Just wait we're forgetting something," said Boom.

"Our research paper," Jimmy said.

I forgot that I was going to start my part-time job.

I left in a hurry because I forgot that I had school to be a salesman. When I went to the grocery store, I saw my boss.

He told me to wear a flower costume. After I changed, my boss told me to sell sanitary pads in the grocery store.

"It has two wings... it's nice..." My boss checks on me.

I removed my shame from my body and started to talk about the product that I will sell.

Fortunately, I have a lot of pads. My boss also gave me my salary.

I will just deposit my salary tomorrow. When I got home, Auo had just finished cooking our dinner.

The next day, Jimmy contacts the show, and the producer comes to our dorm. Jimmy leads him up to the roof to see Boom, but I grumble that I have a bad feeling about this.

"It's a shame that price," Jimmy whispered to me.

That's because Boom sat outside on a rainy day, in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt with a fan pointed at him.

"Apo, I think Boom will get sick from what he's doing," Neo whispers while Boom is already shivering, but he removes his shirt and pretends he's not.

"Who suggest Jimmy's weird TV show?" they said P'Aj.

Boom's lips are turning blue by the time Jimmy tries to get him to go swimming. Boom begs with his eyes not to make him do this, but the producer says the viewers won't believe it otherwise and suggests they add some ice to the water. Boom and us have another eye-contact conversation, and Jimmy's eyes tell Boom to just go in the water once and it will be all over.

"Jimmy, don't you see Boom's lips are blue," I whispered to Jimmy.

Well, Boom's ordeal is over and the producer said that Boom won and gave us 50 thousand baht.
