30: The Joker and The King

(3rd POV)

Jimmy receives a text from Patricia and gets caught grinning at his phone. Apo accidentally saw the text for Jimmy.

"He's your first love and you talk to each other," he admits that he thinks about Patricia a lot, but he's not sure if I like her, or if it's just because we're old friends.

"How did you meet your first love again?" Jane asked. Jimmy told other details but he did not say that Patricia is the star of the movie he is making.

Boom says that it's easy to tell when you like someone, your heart races, your hand,s and feet tingle, and you feel dazed. He says there's a scientific method developed by NASA scientists that can tell him for sure. They don't know that Sea listens to all this, looking pretty interested while trying not to look interested.

Boom shows us how to calculate the chances of Jimmy liking Patricia using the characters in their name. He determines a hundred percent chance that Jimmy will like her, then teaches them another method to determine if we'll end up together using a mechanical pencil. Jimmy stops him, saying that this is stupid.

As soon as they're gone, Sea takes the test and calculates a ninety percent chance that he likes Jimmy. At first, the rejects the result and uses a random name of a delivery menu to prove that the test is wrong, only to turn around and talk himself right back into liking Jimmy.

As usual, they end up fighting over which method is better for determining whether you like a person, the NASA test, or knowing their footsteps. The woman walks past, and then.

Jimmy was struck by a feeling so strong that he fell to his knees, clutching his chest.

He gasps that he felt his heart pound and his fingers go numb when he saw the woman and calls it the first symptom of love. He decides to find out her name and do the test to prove that the NASA calculation works, and he follows her to an office building, where he loses her at the elevator.

"I thought Patricia was the one he wanted," Auo said laughing at them.

"It's not love that's happening to Jimmy, he's just admiring," Jane said to them.

Neo remembered that it was their classmate and it was too late because Jimmy had already left.

"Let him," said Apo.

Meanwhile, Sea still can't believe that she likes Jimmy.

He was still thinking about what he liked about Jimmy when Luis surprised him so he got a cuss word.

"What's wrong with you, you're just answering a mathematical problem," Luis joked as he pocketed the paper with his and Jimmy's names on it.

He changed the subject when he saw Jimmy talking to a woman who annoyed him.

"Sea," he left Luis.

He was in a bad mood from the time he entered the classroom until he went to the gym for physical education. His friends couldn't talk to him except Jimmy who was also there at the gym for their judo class.

He immediately asked who Jimmy was talking to earlier, and Jimmy's answer was his classmate with his hand on his head because of his rudeness.

"You've been classmates for a few months but you don't remember him?" Jimmy explained that he was a transfer student.

Sea didn't mean to say if Jimmy likes his classmate and Jimmy's answer is maybe but he rejected him because his classmate already has a boyfriend. Sea was happy.

"P'Sea, you're cute when you smile," his face returned to being serious and he ordered Jimmy to return to his class.

The next day Mile takes Apo out for dinner, and he tells him that today is his birthday. He asks why he's not celebrating with his parents or friends, and he admits that things are awkward with everyone since he started saying that Mile likes him.

Meanwhile, still clutching his chest, Jimmy staggers up the stairs of the office building to find Patricia. His calculation reveals that they're ten percent meant to be, which he takes as certain proof that the NASA theory works. He stumbles off to meet her, leaving Luis wondering why this is bothering him so much.

Meanwhile, Sea went to the hospital, she's a cardiac specialist, and he's there for a checkup, especially when he says that his heart keeps pounding ever since he met Jimmy. She listens to his heart and decides to run some tests, scaring Sea.

Mile returns to Apo with a cake for him. A man at a nearby table recognizes Mile, embarrassing him when he and his friends loudly announce that he's a gay star. The drunk wants to shake his hand, and he gets offended when he declines.

Mile was also accused of being at fault for why his girlfriend broke up with him.

Mile snaps that he's not obligated to shake rude people's hands just because he acts in LGBT films. The jerk jokes to his friends that it's that attitude that makes him bold enough to take off his clothes for the and Mile nearly attacks him before Apo pulls him away.

"Sir, what you are doing is not right," Apo defended.

Apo was going to punch him in a counter-attack so he lay down drunk.

One of the drunk man's friends said that they sue Apo.

"Go ahead and do that and I have many witnesses that your friend was the first to attack us.

Once they're out of the restaurant, Apo asks if Mile is okay.

"I'm fine, I'm used to that," Mile said to Apo.

After all the tests, Sea looks shell-shocked as he tells his friends that he is not sick, and Pawin gently teases him for thinking it meant love at first sight with Jimmy.

Pawin tells Jimmy, "Just seeing the person you like alive and well makes you feel happy and grateful. Isn't that love?"

The next day, Jimmy arrives on his movie set to find Patricia fighting with the director, who wants her to do a scene that’s not in the original script. Director Kirst tells her to either do the scene or pay the penalty fees to get out of her contract, and Jimmy follows her out to the hallway. He tells her to quit instead of doing things she doesn’t like, and that he’ll take care of things.

He goes back to tell the director that Patricia quits. He says he’ll pay the penalty fee, but he’s horrified to learn that it’s the equivalent of about fifty thousand baht.

Jimmy asks Luis how he's supposed to pay off Patricia's penalty fee, and Luis gets the idea of gambling. He takes Jimmy to a place where they can gamble on bike races and points out someone he calls the Bicycle Ghost, a man who can predict the winner of any race.

He pushes Jimmy into Bicycle Ghost, making him drop his betting ticket, then takes a peek at it as he picks it up from the ground. He writes down the numbers of the two bikers to bet on and sends Jimmy to place the bet.

When Luis sees Jimmy's betting ticket, he freaks out to see that Jimmy was holding his note upside-down and bet on the wrong bikers. But in a surprise upset, Jimmy's picks win the race, and they collect enough money to make a significant dent in Patricia's contract penalty. But Luis, that fountain of good ideas, talks Jimmy into betting all of the money again so they can afford to pay the fee and make their movie.

"P'Luis, it's okay, we might just lose," Jimmy said and Luis did nothing but follow Jimmy.

They went to the director and Jimmy gave the money to pay Patricia's penalty.
