Traveling through the east gate, Link and Kate found themselves in a barren, dried up land; their way forward was blocked by a giant wall, but the graveyard was still accessible, entering the graveyard, the place was empty...
"There has to be a way forward through here", Kate said
"Split up and search around", Link said as Kate nodded her head; walking away from each other, Link and Kate began searching around, looking at either the walls or the graves, trying to find a way forward
"Found something", Kate called out as Link ran up to her, in front of her was a lone grave which seemed to be out of place; pushing it forward, the gravestone slid forward, revealing a secret passage
"Hopefully this leads to where we need to go", Link said
"Only one way to find out", Kate responded as the two entered the passage, moving forward and exiting through a well; there, they were met by a ruined village, but what caught both Link and Kate's eyes were an old castle and a large tower; from what they could gather, Stone Tower was their best bet of saving the canyon; carefully climbing up and reaching the towers entrance, Link and Kate entered, only to see a multicolored vortex.
"Looks like we gotta enter that", Link said
"I don't know about this", Kate said
"Me either, but we're so close to finishing this", Link stated
"I know, it's just... whatever's in there, it's not going to be like anything we've faced before", Kate explained, "I don't know why, but that's the feeling I get when I look at this",
"Whatever it is, we'll take it out together", Link reassured, holding his hand out, "you ready",
"Ready as I'll ever be", Kate said, grabbing Link's hand
"On three", Link asked
"On three", Kate said
"One", Link said
"Two", Kate said
"Three", both Link and Kate said in unison, jumping into the vortex; there, they found themselves in what seemed to be of a desert, but there was no heat; the ground began to shake as two giant centipede-like creatures emerged from the ground, flying around the room; as Link and Kate looked at their surroundings, the only thing they could find was a mask
"I don't see how this is going to help up", Link said, looking at the mask while keeping an eye on the monsters
"Let's see what it does", Kate responded as she put on the mask; soon after, Kate's height changed, she was now giant; looking down, Link was tiny, almost the size of a seed pellet for a slingshot; carefully lowering her hand down, Link climbed on and she then moved her hand toward her shoulder, letting Link climb on to make keep him safe; soon after, Kate moved forward, toward the two monsters, one was slower than the other, but when Kate grabbed one of them, it was heavy... almost too heavy for her to lift,
"Curse my lack of strength", Kate muttered to herself, managing to pin the first monster down, she then stomped on it with her boot, the monster squirmed, soon dying
"Kate, switch out", Link said, although he was shouting, his voice was barely above a whisper for her, but she could hear him, making her way back to the platform, Kate brought her hand back up toward her shoulder, letting Link climb on as she then lowered it down, letting him get off; once he was off, she took off the mask, going back to her normal height
"Kate, give me the mask, leave the other one to me", Link stated
"Alright, but be careful", Kate said, handing the mask to Link, "if you can do what I did, we can defeat it quickly",
Link nodded his head and put the mask on, growing into a giant; like Kate, he lowered his hand and she climbed on, later moving his hand to his shoulder; once Kate was secured, Link moved toward the second monster, managing to grab it and slam it down to the ground, and just Like Kate, stomped on it; the second monster squirmed until it died, only a mask remaining; putting Kate down on the platform, Link took off the mask and both grabbed the final mask
"Last one... we got them all", Link said as the white light returned, the final giant appearing
"Well, we've helped all of you, that's all we can do", Tatl said as the giant bgan crying out
"Tatl", Kate called out
"Call us, that's what they're saying", Tatl replied, "without being told, we understand; so now you'll help us out in exchange, we'll call you from atop the Clock Tower, so do something about him, alright",
The giant cried out, its voice sounding different
"What, their voices sound sad... you don't want to", Tatl asked, the giant spoke out as the white light enveloped the three,
"Forgive your friend, forgive our friend", Tatl asked, "what do you mean by forgive, what friend",
Link and Kate found themselves back in the village ruins, though nothing changed, there were less monsters around, it was still and dawn was arriving; looking up at the moon, it was close
"Final day, do you think we'll make it back to town before night", Link asked
"Yeah, if not, then barely", Kate reassured, "either way, we'll still arrive in time",
"Then let's head out and make it back into town", Link said as Kate nodded her head
"Hey, Link, what's gonna happen when we go back", Kate asked,
"I'd like to continue our search... I don't know if we'll find Navi, but I still want to look", Link stated as Kate nodded her head once again and both began making their way back to Clock Town.
