A New Leader

So now was the time to either break the news or just let this all pass. Being the new leader was already taking its toll. I asked Sorel and Ricky to gather everyone in the dining room for a quick announcement. In a way I didn’t like using the power of being the leader to order people around. Deep in my mind I wanted to hire Ricky to do something, but I couldn’t pinpoint what that was. Going back to my office I changed things a little and got some things together.  Shuffling through some drawers I found something very interesting that father kept a secret from me. It was a picture of him with another woman kissing and a note attached to it.

Leo,

I really want to see your daughter soon. Why won’t you let me see her? I know I would be a good mother towards her. You do know I would never hurt her. I love you Leo. Please answer me.

                                                                                                            Jasmine

Oh my fucking god. What is wrong with father and this so called Jasmine?  I wanted to stay longer just to see what else I could find, but in no time flat everyone was already waiting. Going down the stairs I tried to focus my mind on something else, but nothing was working. Sorel showed up which made a slight fog appear along with some news. From the look on his face I could tell it was something bad.

“My love I overheard some people talking and one says that you were the one who killed your father. I immediately came to you because I didn’t know what else to do.”

“Thank you Sorel. Let’s go see what’s going on down there. Where’s Ricky?”

“I asked him to get your brother because he was elsewhere.”

We both continued to walk down the stairs when someone rushes up to us in a panic. Matthew was out of breath when he came to a stop. In between breathes he tried to say something, but nothing would come out. When Matthew gathered his thoughts and words he began talking.

“Rayne, something’s happened to Axel and its bad.”

“Sorel, could you please tell everyone what I was going to say. I have to go real fast.”

“Of course,” he said with a kiss goodbye.

Is anything else bad going to happen today? First father and now Axel. I hope he didn’t go back to his old self because I would feel so betrayed. When Matthew and I arrived at our destination I saw Axel in his wolf form covered in blood. Being a white wolf was tricky sometimes especially when blood stains your fur so easily. In my mind I wanted to take off and find who did this, but I didn’t because Axel needed me. I got closer to see if he had a pulse, and I let out a deep breath of relief. Being unconscious was better than being dead, so I was happy about that.

“Axel,” I kept saying while nudging him, “please wake up.”

Turning into my wolf and nudging him wasn’t working either, so I stayed and lied by his side. Matthew went back to the mansion to tell Sorel and also knew that I wanted to be alone with Axel. While I lay next to my brother the note was still in my mind. This Jasmine person was going to be found one way or another because I want to know who this really is. At some point, I fell asleep and I woke up to the warmth of my bed. Jumping up, I scared Sorel, Ricky, and Matthew while I dashed out the door. When I heard Sorel yell “he’s in his room healing” I turned back. Somehow I became lightheaded and fell forward fainting in Sorel’s arms. The last thing I remember before I fainted was the image of Diva standing in the hallway. A total blackout was through my whole slumber. No dreams. No nothing.

(Sorel’s POV)

Rayne was running back after I shouted where her neither was, and collapsed out of nowhere. I lunged forward to grab her while the scent of a familiar person showed up. Diva was lucky she was out, but I was very concerned. How did that happen when she didn’t show any signs of weakness? Other than that I told Diva to leave, but she didn’t. I was starting to get pissed because today was a bowl of stress thrown everywhere. Again I asked her nicely, but again she refused.

“Listen, you need to leave or else you bloodsucker.”

“That isn’t very nice.”

“Oh cut the act I know you’re hiding something so spill it.”

“Listen mutt, you do what I say or I’ll kill everyone in this building.”

I gave Rayne to Matthew, transformed into my wolf and it was on. Reading her mind let me know something interesting. He’s never going to figure out that I was the one who injured a previous wolf. So it was this bitch that injured Axel. I looked over at Ricky and he got the message. He too transformed into his wolf and we both howled for back up. The whole pack showed up for one versus a million. In a matter of seconds Ricky was the first to get a good grip on her and one by one everyone piled on top. Every part of Diva’s body was covered by wolf except for her head which I ripped off with no problem. She was a real threat to us all, so I took responsibilities for what happened. The thought of Rayne made my anger slowly fade away, and after I cleared up some things I went up to see her. It was amazing that she slept through all of this commotion. Rayne was fast asleep in a deep slumber that looked very relaxing. I bent over, kissed her forehead, and something magical happened. Her eyes opened with that little twinkle, but something was off. She woke up crying and came closer to me.

“Everything’s going to be okay my love. Please calm down.”

Poor Rayne kept sobbing, but I understood what happened. At least I thought I did, but maybe something happened when she was sleeping. I knew that Rayne wanted me to hold her, but I pulled away by not much space between us. We looked into each other’s eyes as our faces got closer to where our lips were only centimeters apart. When I kissed her the tears stopped and she responded with equal force. Now that the tears were gone I came to a stopping point to tell her what happened.

“Sweetheart, Diva was here earlier and the whole pack destroyed her. I did the final blow just for you. Oh and also, I wanted to tell you that it was her that caused Axel's slight paralysis.”

“Thank you so much Sorel,” Rayne said while giving me a big hug.

“You’re welcome love.”

After that, the day slowly came to an end and everyone was constantly on guard. Ever since our bloodsucking visitor showed up, all wolves were on full alert and very cautious.
