Warning: this chapter contains sexual references, plus vulgarities. Do take note!

Lucas

It's been two weeks. Mom and Tony left for their honeymoon a few days after the wedding. I heard from the twins that Evangeline didn't even say goodbye.

Evangeline. Our stepsister.

The vivid memory of the hurt look in her eyes is still sharp in my mind. Did I imagine it? My heart throbs at the very thought. Does she care too?

No. She couldn't. We're fucking stepsiblings, for crying out loud. Any sort of romantic or sexual relationship is strictly forbidden by law. Which is why I'm doing this.

Getting a girlfriend would reduce my contact with Evangeline. I could lose myself in the new girl. Forget about Evangeline.

Evangeline is sweet and charming. Any boy would fall for her.

Just as I did.

I'm willing to bet my left testicle that my brothers have, too.

I slap myself mentally. Stop thinking. To do just that, I slug back more whiskey.

Jessica curls her hand around my arm.

Evangeline used to do that.

I let out an irritated sigh. "Yes, Jess?"

"Boo." She pouts. 'Can we, like, go somewhere tomorrow?"

"Where?"

"The movies." She trails her lacquered, glittery nails down here chest seductively, eyes downcast, fixated on...my crotch?

Is she suggesting we go the to movies to do...that?

My head feels fuzzy, but I shake my head sternly, shoving her off of my lap. "No way."

"Why not? Come on, it'll be fun!" she wheedles.

"I'll even suck your cock," she purrs. "I give great head, you know? Behind the seats-"

I interrupt her with a brusque 'no'. My hand clenches around the neck of the glass liquor bottle.

Her expression darkens immediately. Gone is the plastic smile she carries on her face in front of me. This is the first time I've refused her requests.

"Why? Is it because you'd rather fuck your bratty stepsister?" The words are spoken in a venomous tone, like sharp, poison blades. Meant to cut and slice. Sink deep into your skin. Let it taint your blood so you wither away into nothing and be blown away as dust on the wind without a trace.

Please don't remind me. I must've drunk at least two bottles of Jack Daniels just to distract my mind, even for a second.

"Stop," I hiss. "You know I love you. You're my girlfriend, Jess."

"Rubbish." She spits, seething with rage. "I know you love that stupid bitch."

I freeze. She looks at me, expecting me to deny it. For some reason, I don't.

Because, in truth, I do. So much that my heart wants to explode.

And also because I've had enough of this bullshit.

Jessica's eyes widen. "Argh!" She shoots to her feet, swaying slightly. Jessica is just as drunk as I am. She shrieks like a banshee, stomping her heels on the ground in a fit of anger. I turn to leave her house.

In an outburst of fury, she hollers from behind as I slam her front door. "You're oblivious to it, but that beloved stepsister you treasure so much has probably got an STD from being passed around by your brothers all the time!"

I let her words get carried away by the cold night gale. I can still hear her ranting and raving on, even halfway down the dark street, but I don't look back.

Enough is enough.

Time to find my Princess.
