AYNE'S POV

I am in front of the hospital watching the rain fall down from the clear canopy. It's already late in the evening. I don't feel sleepy right now after what I learned.

Dad told me everything he knew about my powers because mom told her. He reasoned out that he didn't tell me because he is doing something, which is another secret of his. But he clarified that the death of my mother, his beloved wife, is the most devastating he experienced. The responsibility he had burdened him so much that he became distant from me. He didn't mean to leave us hanging. He just needed to find the answers which he didn't clearly explain. I can't ask him but I can feel that there is something going on and that is related to me. All I need to do now is to trust. Also, I need to talk to my brother. That idiot knew everything all along. And the condo, it was bought by my dad. They planned my departure from the house because it's my mom's wish before she died. Making me experience normal life, but how? When I, myself, am afraid of taking myself outside of my zone. Dad also gave me the last letter she wrote before she died.

To my dearest daughter, Ynell,

That name of yours, I am the one who suggested it and forced your dad to include it. Ynell... a beautiful name... the meaning is unknown because you are the one that will give meaning to that name. I wish you could fill that name with a beautiful meaning as you let yourself travel around and unrestrain from possibilities.

This is your mom who loved you dearly and purely,

Maria Husher-Cantle

P.S. The power of yours has a purpose, you just need to control it.

And until my mom's last breath, she still made assurance that my state will be in good hands. As I watch the raindrops, my tears fall down. Missing her these days also burdens me to the point living in this world is useless. But after reading my mom's written note left for me made me pursue my life with a sense of purpose because after all we need to continue living and survive.

But there's one word in the note that made me realize.... control.

I stare from a far as I think of it but was startled when someone suddenly grasped my wrist and turned me around. I saw Hans looking at me, with bruises in his face.

"What are you doing here?", he worriedly asked. I didn't answer him but unconsciously touched his face.

"Who hit you?", I worriedly asked, "Let te nurses clean your–", he stopped me from talking.

"Answer me first, Ayne.", his serious voice covered my wh ole ears and slowly looked him in the eye.

"I went to see the rain.", but after I answered, he hugged me tightly as he breathed hastily.

"Please.... Please.... I'm begging you... Stop making me worried.", he said with paces and stops as he lays his head on my shoulder. This new feeling of mine starts to make me confused. I can hear my heart beating so loud and it makes me concerned if he hears it. When suddenly he talked, "Don't move. Let me just stay with you for a few more minutes.".

I smiled and slowly hugged him back, tapped his back to calm him down. "Don't worry. I'll call you when I am in danger.", I jokingly whispered.

"You should.", he answered with a deep voice. I laughed.

We stayed hugging until a familiar voice entered the scene. It's Anna.

"Really? In public?", she commented, sarcastically.

Hans pushed me away from him, gently, then left us.

"What is he doing?", Anna's comment for the second time around.
