1 week before visiting Nardel in the jail...
Ayne started to practice how to control her powers through her close people of hers which they supported, together with Doc Joseph.
"If something discomforts you, you should stop. Don't overstress yourself... again.", Doc Joseph's warning to a positive and excited Ayne.
Last Day.
She is with Anna in a white painted room while they are being watched by Doc Joseph and Ayne's dad, Chairman Cantle, on a monitor. Heart rate is also monitored through patches with wires attached to Ayne's chest.
"Ayne you can stop once you feel dizzy. Don't push yourself.", Doc Joseph announced through mic.
Ayne just nodded and started concentrating, staring at Anna's eyes. Slowly, Ayne's face changed, wrinkling forehead and crumpling her fist, suppressing the pain. The heart rate is rising up.
"Ayne.", Doc Joseph called her attention but Ayne didn't listen and just continued.
"Should I close my eyes?", Anna asked, worried, but still looking into Ayne's eyes.
Ayne held her hand and stopped her from moving. "Don't move.", Ayne answered, trembling.
"But—", but before Anna could answer, Ayne began to sweat, tremendously.
"One....", Ayne began to count, trembling, "Two.... Thre—", but before she could finish the act, all the lights turned off in a short period of time.
But as the lights got back, Ayne observed that everything and everyone stopped. Then a 7 year old girl appeared, wearing a white dress, hair tied up in a bun, and holding a lily flower.
"Who are you? Why do you look like me?", Ayne confusingly asked.
"I am here for a warning.", she answered calmly.
Ayne looked at her, muddled, "A warning? For what? And why are they not moving?".
"I don't have time to answer your unnecessary questions. Listen to me.", Ayne looked at her silently and listened to her after a sigh.
"You have only three chances. Don't overwork your precious eyes. You can't see all of their past. It's just a glimpse. And this power of yours came from our ancestors and once it's abused, there is a consequence. Also, don't trust anyone even though they are the closest to you or to your family. I know you'll disregard this warning once I leave you. That's why I left a precious gift of yours. In a while, he'll know your future.", and then she sighed, "Ynell...", the little girl's voice changed. A familiar voice that Ayne longs for.
"Mom?", Ayne started to become teary. She started walking towards that little girl and both of them shared a hug. The little girl gently pulled Ayne away from her.
"My daughter, just keep this in your heart. To control the power you have, you need to fully trust yourself that in looking at someone's eyes, there should be a wall."
"Wall?"
"Think of something that covers your possibility of focusing someone's memory."
Ayne looked at her confused.
"What would be that memory?".
"You mean I need to think of another memory to look at someone's eyes.", Ayne answered.
"That's it!", then as Ayne blinked everything back to normal.
Lights went back and everyone was moving. Anna is looking at Ayne worried.
"Should we stop?", Anna worriedly asked. Ayne shakes her head as an answer and tries for the second time. Ayne breathed deeply and thought of the memories she had with her mother, then looked into Anna's eyes,
Doc Joseph and Chairman Cantle observe Ayne's slowly dropping heart rate up to normal and how Ayne takes longer without any changes in her physically.
Chairman Cantle hastily went to the room. Ayne looked at his dad, teary. Chairman Cantle hugged her daughter tightly.
"Dad... I did it.", Ayne whispered.
"I'm so proud of you, daughter.", Chairman Cantle sweetly said. "This should be celebrated."
"Indeed, Uncle.", Anna replied, brightly.
