It was another slower day at the DX, only 3 customers and luckily None of them were preppy soc girls. I think I've officially gone through all the magazines we own.

I found some nail polish in the break room and decided to paint my nails. Red was probably not the best colour to paint my nails with because it clashes with my hair, but I was bored. Suddenly the back door whipped open cussing me to jump and the paint of my nail polish to go onto my hand. "I swear to-" I started but when u turned to see who it was I shut up.

"Oh shoot sorry about your nails- here let me get you a cloth." Soda said jogging to the back room. He came back with a gray cloth and water. "That's the cleanest cloth in this place so use it with care." he joked.

Little does he know water doesn't get nail polish off but it was still really sweet and There's nothing else here so I tried it Anyway. "T-Thanks." I said. He nodded. "So the real reason I came here other than to mess up your nails-" he smiled. Gosh that smile.

"Steve Sandy Evie and I were gonna go to the bar (not to drink just dance) but Sandy had to cancel last minute, so would you come as my date?" My heart skipped a beat and my face heated up. He musta noticed because he added: As friends of course." With a smile.

My stomach dropped. I'm so stupid what was I expecting?? His in a happy relationship- I shouldn't have been even hoping it was like that- I'm a bad friend aren't I? "Of C-ourse." I squeaked. His face lit up. "Okay! I'll pick you up at 7:00 if that's alright."

I started to nod but then I remember my brother. Shoot. I groaned and soda gave me a questioning look. "I don't have anyone to take care of my brother in my place." I sighed. "Sorry soda I wish I could have went. Thanks for the invite." Soda looked sad but then he he perked up again.

"Actually, I have an idea. You can get ready and then walk over my house at 7:00. You can drop Parker off and the boys could watch him." Soda beamed. I wanted to do this so bad but I knew I couldn't take advantage of them. Darry already has a lot on his plate with soda and pony and he practically raises the other boys too. "Soda- I couldn't."

"Please the boys would appreciate someone new around and I know Parker looks up to 'em." I stayed silent contemplating. I felt a warm strong hand on my shoulder my breath hitched looking up. "I'd also really enjoy your company birdie."

He smiled. HIS SMILE. I felt like I was melting. Soda is the only one that calls me birdie and he doesn't know how much I love it. I sighed.

"Okay, I'll come I just gotta let my mom know." I said with a shy smile. Soda lit up again and pulled me into a hug. I felt my face heat up for the millionth time as I hugged him back soaking it all in.

I wish I could stay like this forever.
