Robyn
"Sooooo him and Sandy broke up?" "Yep." "Sooooo you guys can finally get together?" Kate perked up. I rolled my eyes. "No. He's getting over a break up with a girl he was gonna marry who got pregnant with some random guys baby and still broke up with him even after he offered to take of the baby as his own."

It was Kate's turn to roll her eyes. "So what If he was gonna marry her? Hell realise soon enough that he was dodging a bullet and how amazing you are." I smiled shaking my head. "You watch to many movies." I said causing her too laugh.

"Well I gotta head out for my shift- cya later Kate." I said slipping on my shoes. "Byeee." She said as I shut the door. I decided to stop at the boys favourite bakery too get a dozen donuts. "I'm here!" I said as the bell of the dx door rang.

Steve and soda were talking at the front counter when I walked up. "And I brought donuts!" I added and they perked up almost immediately. "Oooooh donuts thanks Robyn!" Soda beamed picking one up. "Fanks Abyn!" Steve added mouth already full.

"So sodapop, what are you doing after work?" I blinked. "Going home, probably taking a nap." "Wrong." I smiled. He cocked an eyebrow. I turned to Steve. "What are YOU doing after work steve?" "I uh- I'm taking Evie out." Steve mumbled curiously.

"See! Even Steve's doing something. Your gonna too." "Wait what do you mean even I'm doing something?" Steve started. "What do you suggest I do? It's not like I have a date anymore.." Soda said eyes dropping. "First of all you don't need a date to do something fun." "I don't know Robyn..." "Pleaseeeee?" There was silence until Soda sighed.

"Fine." "Yay! Trust me, your gonna have the time of your life." I smiled and soda couldn't help but grin a little himself.
"Okay Soda! I'll come to your house when I'm ready- I gotta grab some things." "Cya Robyn." Soda said going his separate way.

I grabbed the supplies and headed out. If your wondering where Parker is, his soccer is starting up again and he carpools gone because my mom takes our only car to work everyday. I arrived at the Curtis house masking my excitement.

I rang the door bell and I heard shuffling around until a frantic soda opened the door. "Robyn Hi! He said out of breath but he looked like he was glancing at me in awe. "Take a picture it lasts longer!" I heard someone who I assume is Dally.

Soda blinked out of his haze embarrassment written on his face. "I was uh looking for my hat I think it's in my room just one second." He smiled running back down the hall. I stepped inside glanced at the gang. They were all staring at me expectantly like I was gonna grow a tail. Soda came back out and I caught a glance of dally winking at me. Weirdos.

Soda closed the door rolling his yes. "Sorry about them I swear I told them to behave." I laughed. "It's fine." "So, what's in the box?" Soda pondered. "A surprise." He rolled his eyes smiling and opened my car door. "Ah what a gentleman."

I gushed making him laugh this time. I told him to drive to the nicest park in Tulsa. "Okay... we're at the nicest park in Tulsa. Now what?" Soda asked suspiciously. "You have the patience of a gnat." I giggled. We went up the little hill up next to this big tree that' been there basically forever.

Everyone thinks the the Lochapoka (Turtle Clan)
Muscogee(Creek) -(The first settlers in Tulsa) Planted this tree when they came. No one really knows if it's true, but I like to believe it is- it's a cool little back story. To this day, the people call it the: "big ol' tree." Yeah I know. Super creative.

We got to the top of the little hill and I sat down under the "Big ol' tree." And started unpacking the box. I took out neatly folded red and white checkered blanket. "I could lay that out if you'd like." Soda offered. He really can't sit still. I smiled. "That works be great, Soda."

While he worked on that, I took out two ham sandwiches, apples, grapes, potato chips, lemonade, and of course some chocolate cake. (I managed to get some from Darry) "Wow birdie, this looks amazing." Soda said genuinely beaming. We talked she ate our food. We mostly talked about work and it's best moments.

"And the guy creeped up to the counter and said 'ya got any thing I can get for free.'" Soda lowered his voice and try and imitate the old farmer. "And I said no.. this is a gastation." Soda added. I was laughing so hard. "Wait-" I said in between chuckles. "Didn't Steve have to like.. get our boss to kick him out?" "Oh my gosh yeah!" Soda said cackling.

We both finished laughing And we sat in comfortable silence admiring at the beautiful day.

I glanced at soda and I saw a smile grow on his face. He scooted next to me on the blanket from across and pulled me down onto the checkered picnic blanket. I let out a little shriek but then stopped staring at the puffy white clouds.

"Woah." "I know." Soda said in equal awe as me. "Don't ya just wanna touch them?" I said reaching up as if I could reach the Cotten blobs. "Yeah. Look- that one looks like Mickey." He said pointing to somewhere I couldn't see. "What? Where?" I asked squinting. "There." He pointed again.

"I still don't see it." I sighed. Soda gently grabbed my arm giving me goosebumps. "There." He repeats. I finally saw it. "Oh my gosh it does look like Mickey. Two would have loved that." I laughed. "That one looks like a..." soda trailed off thinking. "Robin?" He finally added.

"Hah. Hah. Your so funny." I remarked. "Thank you, I like to think so." Soda said making me actually laugh. I glanced over and he happened to be looking at me too. I looked into his sea blue eyes and he gazed into mine.

Suddenly the sky made a rumbling noises and I felt a sprinkle on my nose. We both sat up and I held my palm out for more rain to fall onto it. "Well it was nice while it lasted." I sighed. "Why? You scared of a little rain birdie?" Soda smirked.

"No- I just don't wanna be soaked- but if you do be my guest and walk home I laughed and soda pushed me playfully. By the time we picked up the blanket and our garbage it was pouring rain. We quickly jumped on the car hair and clothes dripping into sodas car.

"This cars been through a lot." "Yeah, like almost getting puked on, and now it's all wet." Soda fake pouted patting the dashboard as if the car felt his comforting. I rolled my eyes. "Your never gonna let me live that down are ya?" "Nope."

"And.. here." Soda said pulling up to my driveway. "Thank you soda." I smiled gathering my box in my lap. "No Robyn, thank you." I snapped my head up. He only says my real name when he's serious. "For getting me out of the house- and laughing again." I smiled again. "Don't mention it and there will be plenty more to come." I reached up and lightly kissed sodas cheek turning bright red before getting out of the car and into my house. I just kissed SodaPops cheek.

Sodapop
I sat frozen in the drivers seat of the truck for a good second before pulling out of Robyn's driveway- She just kissed my cheek. Of course I was friendly? Why am I over thinking this? Sandy just broke up with me and I'm thinking about whether a kiss on the cheek from my best friend was friendly.

What's wrong with me? I opened the door to the house causing everyone's attention to come to me. Of course the whole gangs here. Suddenly there was laughing. "What?" "You've been busy huh Soda?" Two laughed taking a sip of his beer.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said back. "Ya got something on your cheek buddy." Darry said unamused flipping through the daily paper. I jogged over to the bathroom and that's when k saw it. A Kiss mark in bright pink lipstick.

Robyn. I touched the mark gingerly as I heard the boys cracking jokes in the living room about it.
