The fire king's heat burned so hot that it melted the ice beneath him. The landscape around them was reduced to destruction and the closest soul to them was too far away to hear their weapons clash. The ice queen looked dazzling in her beautiful armor. She wasn't dressed appropriately for a battle, but lately...
...the battle was only a form of role-play.
The difference in their elemental nature made the love they had for each other difficult. The fire king and ice queen were once cursed by the addiction of battle, however, that same addiction would cause them to fall in love. When they made contact with each other, every cell in their body screamed in agonizing pain but the sensation they felt was worth it. On this day, against all forces of nature, the king and the queen of opposing realms would make love.
The heat of the flames that burned through the veins of a Fire giant could not be put out by any form of water in the cosmos. Likewise, the frost that made up the Ice giants could not be melted by any flame in the cosmos. However, the flames within the fire giants were hot enough to melt the frost that made up the ice giants and the water of this melted frost was cool enough to put out the flames of a fire giant.
So, at the climax of their love, the ice queen would melt in the hands of her lover, while the water that once made up her body would put out his flames. Now, all that remained at the centre of all this destruction was a dead fire giant laying in a pool of the woman he once loved. Within this pool, the ice queen's pearls and cursed blade would sink to the bottom. Moreover, the magic in the royal blood of the king and queen would fuse together in the "warm pool" to create a miracle. This miracle came in the form of Ymir- A hybrid child of the fire king and ice queen...
...and heir to both realms.
