“Well we have to take you to the emergency room first.” He said.
“Right.” I said with disappointment.
We got to the part of the ER part of the hospital and found a parking space. I tried to open my door but it was locked. I looked for the button on my side but I could not find it. After a few seconds of trying I gave up. Liam came around to my side and used his keys to unlock the door and help me out of the car like I was a three year-old child.
“I can get out of the car on my own you know?” I said pushing him out of the way.
“Oh…” he said confused.
We walked into the main doors. I sat down and Liam went to the receptionist’s desk to check me in.
“Ashley, we are ready for you.” A doctor called
I got up out of my seat and walked to where the doctor was directing me. Liam was walking next to me. I didn’t want him to be in there. But I didn’t want to be anymore rude than I already had been.
The doctor checked few things to see if there was any sign of a concoction. Thankfully I don’t have a concoction. I just hit my head pretty hard. He gave me a bag of ice and told me he would give me a prescription for a pain killer. I wasn’t going to pick it up just because I didn’t want my mom or dad to find out.
“You should be fine Ashley, let me go fill out this prescription and get you some ice, then you guys can be on your way.” The doctor said.
“Thank God.” I heard Liam whisper under his breath.
“What?” I asked.
“I’m just glad you’re okay. I feel terrible.”
“Don’t, I’m ---“ I was cut off by the ringing of Liam’s phone.
He just stared at me.
“Well are you doing to answer that?”
“Oh right!”
Liam walked out of the room to answer his phone.
“Yeah, everything is all good. Thanks for checking in.”
“Okay sounds good I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said to the person on the other line walking back into the room.
“Are you hungry?” Liam asked me.
“Kind of, but I can eat when I get back to my grandmas.”
“No that’s okay, were going to stop at one of the cafes on the way back to your grandmas.” He insisted.
“No, really.” I refused.
“Ashley, I’m taking you to get something to eat whether you like it or not.”
“You really like arguing with my don’t you?” I asked
Liam chucked and grabbed my hand to help me get off the bed, that was a little high off the ground. I scooted to the edge and slightly jumped off. Liam was still holding my hand after I got off.
“Ehh-Hemmm...” I cleared my throat while looking at our hands, then him. Maybe he would get the hint to let go of me. But he didn’t… he just got closer. I yanked my hand away from his.
“What are you trying to do Liam?” I called him out on his actions towards me.
“Ha, nothing.” he was blushing.
I knew that if I got myself involved with a guy like this it would only end up bad. I need to stand my ground, no matter how cute his accent is.
“Alright Ashley, you are all set. Here is the ice and prescription.” The doctor handed me those two things and Liam and I walked to the exit.
