Liam’s POV
Every time our lips touched my heart skipped a beat. Being with Ashley was just so special. There was something about her that made me realize how much life is worth living. Last night couldn’t have been more perfect. She gave me everything. I was so happy she was able to do that, not just because I’m a man and I have hormones, but because like I said there is something about Ashley that just makes me feel warm inside.
I finished up my cereal and went to the couch to look through the channels; Ashley went into the room to check her phone. I continued to flip through the channels and I hear her in the room. I look from where I’m sitting and I can only see a little bit of her so I wait to make sure something really is wrong.
“What’s wrong?” Ashley screamed. I assumed she was on the phone.
I walk in the direction of the room and slightly push the door open to see Ashley on her knees with her hands in her face trying to breathe, because the sobs are causing her to lose her breath. Her phone is on the floor, I glanced at it and looked back over to Ashley and unaware of what was going on I went over to her to see why she was so hysterical.
“Ashley, babe what’s wrong?” I asked in a shaky tone, scared at what her response would be.
She didn’t give me an answer, the tears escaping her eyes one after the other.
“Love, what is the matter?” I ask again getting more and more worried. Seeing her struggle for air is hurting me. She is in a lot of pain from something she was just told over the phone.
“What’s wrong?” I almost yelled for the final time.
“My brother’s dead. He’s dead.” She sobbed.
Wait a minute. I didn’t know she had a brother, since when? I only knew about her sister Deena.
“Take me home Liam.” She begged.
I stood up trying to get her up, she was just too weak. It was like 30 more pounds were added onto her back with the horrific news she just received. I picked her up and carried her to the car. She hid her face in the crook of my neck. I placed her in the car and pulled her seat belt over her chest and buckled her in.
I ran back into the house, my heart was beating faster than it ever has. I was worried. I knew what was going on, but I never knew she had a brother. I can only imagine how hurt she is. If I were to lose either one of my sisters I would be devastated. I don’t even know what I would do.
I got Ashley’s stuff out of the room and picked up her white iPhone and put it in her bag. I head walked out of my flat and closed the door behind me. I looked in the window of the car and saw Ashley, with her head buried into her knees. a strike of hurt hit my heart like lightning.
I hopped in the car and pulled away heading to Ashley’s grandma’s. The car was silent the whole ride there, beside the screaming sobs coming from her lips. I was stopped at a light looking at her. I tear escaped my eyes. I put my hand on her back and moved my thumb back and forth the rest of the way.
When we got to her grandmas I got out of the car and walked over to her side. She had her bag in hand and I walked her up to the door. I knew it was risky but I didn’t care. I probably wouldn’t see her for a long time. I assumed she was going back to California as soon as they could get a flight.
We reached the porch, I looked into her glossy brown eyes, and they were red from crying and tired looking.
“Go, I’ll let you know what’s going on. I love you.” She said as she placed the softest kiss upon my lips. Tears were falling from her eyes, hitting my cheeks. I held her as close to me as I could. I’m so worried about her. I love seeing her happy, not crying and in so much pain.
