~Deena’s POV~
Paul and I are really getting to know each other. It seems he is the only one who can make me smile. We only have the funeral home for one more hour. Paul has been here with me and my family the whole time. We exchanged numbers and he said he really wanted to take me out. I wasn’t going to say no because I really wanted to. I just needed a few days after the actual funeral. I had a feeling I would be spending those days with Paul anyways.
Yesterday Paul gave me a note my brother wrote me. I didn’t think to read it until now. I was more scared than ever to open it. I took the envelope out of my purse I didn’t realize it when Paul handed it to me there was something in it. Paul said James wrote letters to all of us. I wonder if he got the letters to them.
I turned the envelope over to see my name written on the back in my brothers hand writing. It wasn’t the best, but it was nice to see. I unsealed the letter and pulled out the paper he had written on.
Deena,
Hey little sis, how’s everything going? I miss you and everyone a lot. Things over here are getting scary. There are a lot of very close calls, and to tell the truth I’m scared. I know if you are reading this it’s probably meaning I have died. Deena I love you so much I want you to remember that. And no matter where I am I will always, always be here either looking over you. Or right by your side. There is nothing on this Earth that could change that. I’m young. But so are you. You have your whole life ahead of you waiting for you to make stupid decisions but also have the greatest time. I remember you telling me about some band One Direction? I was worried you were obsessed. When we were on the phone that’s all you talked about. I hope one day you get the chance to meet them like you’ve always dreamed. I’ve also written Mom dad and Ashley letters. I want you to do me a favor and give them all hugs from me not just cheap side hugs like you usually give. Real hugs. I’ve asked Paul to deliver these is he was able to. He’s a great guy. Along with this letter I’m giving you the shark tooth necklace that you got me for my 16th birthday. It always made me laugh because when you gave it to me you said that if I lost it I would have to fight a shark for another tooth. Well I still have it, but I’m giving it back to you because it’s one of my favorite things. Thank you for watching out for Ashley while I’m gone. Keep doing that you both need each other more than you think. I love you, and listen don’t cry too much I like it better when you have that smile on your face. See you someday.

As I read the letter I giggle, remember the things I said to him when I was little. He was… Is a wonderful brother. I took the necklace out of the envelope and pulled it over my head. I didn’t want to cry anymore. I know he’s safe now and that all that matters.
~Ashley’s POV~
I wish I was able to see Liam. When I’m alone I either think about my brother or Liam. I was beginning to miss him. I just got out of the shower it was very refreshing. I figured I would go on my laptop and see if Liam was on Skype.
I opened Skype on my computer and looked at who was on. Liam was not on. I really wanted to talk to him though. I decided I should text him and ask him if he could get on.
To Liam: Hey babe. I was wondering if you could get on skype?X
He replied almost immediately.
From Liam: Getting on now x
Soon I was getting a Skype call from Liam. I turned on my lamp before I answered.
“Hi Liam.” I said when he picked up the call
“It’s so nice to see you. How are you doing?” he asked.
“It’s nice to see you to, and I’m doing alright. The funeral is tomorrow, I don’t know if I’m ready for that yet. My dad asked me to speak.”
“I hope everything goes well. I’m sure your speech will mean a lot to your family.”
I smiled.
“So I’m looking for plane tickets.” He said lightening the mood.
“For when?”
“I was thinking not this Saturday, but next Saturday I would fly in and get a hotel.”
“That works, I really miss you Liam.” I took a deep breath.
“I miss you too Ashley. I will be there sooner than you know it.” He yawned.
“Oh my gosh I totally forgot, time difference. Get to bed and text me when you wake up.”
“I wanted to talk to you so it’s okay. Sweet dreams love.” He said blowing me a kiss through the camera.
“Goodnight.” I said hanging up the call.
“Who were you talking to?” I heard Deena ask from my door.
I panicked. “Uhhhh, umm a friend.” I quickly tried to say.
“A guy friend?” Deena asked.
“Yeah, we uh met in London.” Okay I guess that works.
“Okay I guess. Paul is here, and he has something for you.”
Paul walked into my room handing me an envelope.
“James wanted me to give this to you is anything ever happened.”
I looked down at the envelope my name written on the front in my brother’s handwriting.
“Thanks.” I said shooting him a smile.
Deena and Paul walked down the hall towards Deena’s room. I wondered if he was staying here. He was staying at a hotel because he lives in San Diego.
I almost got caught talking to Liam. I don’t think Deena has thought very much about One Direction with everything going on, I still think she would flip tables if she found out I was seeing Liam. Either way is things with us work out she will eventually find out.
I would probably be screamed at for not telling her. She will probably need to go to the hospital when she meets them. Who knows Liam could be her brother-in-law if things worked out the way I wanted. I guess we will just have to wait in see.
But since I’m speaking at the funeral I started to think about what I was going to say. I didn’t want to write anything down; I wanted to freely say what came to mind. All the good memories and the funny memories is what I wanted to mention.
I leaned over and turned off my lamp. I drifted off to sleep. I think it was one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a while. Tomorrow was going to be a big day, and emotional day. I know I can get through this.
