Forty-two Months later....

"Anne, let's go" it was Val calling from our car which we called "La Nube" because it was white. Yes, we finally had a car no more lent car it was an advance wedding gift for us.
"Coming" we are going to visit one of our sisters in the Lord.
"Can we drop by a moment for an ice cream treat?" I asked.
" No!, after you refused my ice cream offer before. No more ice cream treat" Val said teasingly.

It's been 3 years and a half since we got married but until now, he didn't forget about that day when he offered me an ice cream which I refused.

Honestly, since we got married I enjoy having him around. Our honeymoon went great, we traveled in some areas of our Island. It was just very simple yet satisfying.

For now, Val left being a pastor of our congregation and we don't attend that place anymore. We are living in a tiny apartment, that almost has no sink at all, no aircon, covered by zinc as one of the wall covers, during the hot season we are like in a barbecue grill. Val is still applying for a job but no luck yet. He goes out every single to look for a job but no nothing.

Life is not a fairytale as I already said but I cannot say we didn't live happily though no ever after yet, because we are happy. God supplies our needs in a way we cannot imagine.

Just yesterday someone passed by our apartment and drop a lot of eggs, rice, beans and different can goods. We honestly don't know where they came from and from whom because even the person who dropped off the stocks we don't know him. He just dropped it off and then left. We shared a lot with our neighbors. We consider it a miracle. We are not spenders, we know how to live in abundance and in need, that is what the scriptures taught us. In our house, we have one rule that may apply to all, and that is - Do not buy if you cannot afford it nor loan for it.

I grow up in a very comfortable life, well provided in everything while Val lived in the opposite but I will never barter what I have today for what I had before. We may not have too much but we have enough and it's our Father God in heaven who provides it for us. This experience only its already priceless.

" Come now" it was the voice of Val cut my running thought.

"Ohh, I never noticed we arrived already at their house. Is that fast? I asked looking around. " But it's not the house of Melly," I told him.

"You said you want ice cream, so there you have it," he said trying to suppress his smile while pointing to the Ice cream shop located in the next corner, the one he went before when he bought one for me.
" Yey!... I said excitedly.

" If I just don't love you, I will never take you here, after what you did to me," he said getting out of the car to open my door.

" Ohh, Te Amo!"I gave him a chaste kiss on his cheeks that makes him blush.

Ever since we got married maybe not every day I heard him saying the magic word "I love you" but he always makes sure that I feel it and once in a while he blows it to me.

"Rocky road for me please with pistachio,"  I told him and the waiter taking our order. He looked at me with his deep teasing eyes and said;
"Don't tell me, even my favorite flavor you also copy? The comment that I just smile for an answer.

A day like today is already strange for us, going just the both of us cannot be done so easily now, especially since we already have our first son, but as my mother offered to take care of him we took advantage of visiting the brethren in need.
