Nelly.
It's been several weeks since I was engaged, Mom, Pete, and Lizzy were very happy for me. Val visits me at our house almost every night as long as he is available.
Everything runs smoothly, my mom started to get busy with the wedding preparations and the people in our congregation were all very excited. But, as for me, I am still waiting patiently for that magic word.

"Nelly!.. Nelly" I heard someone calling me from afar. When I looked around it was Sandra waving and giving me a signal to wait.
"Hi, how are you? What happened?" I greet her with questions.
" All is well, I just want to walk with you," she said still panting
"Ohhh, it's an honor ma'am, " I told her jesting.
"Thank you," she said vowing her head, also
jesting. Her action makes me laugh. "Well, any update?" She asked.
"Update about what?" I acted like I don't know what she meant.
"Girl, don't let me spell it," she said with warning. Looking at me intently.
"Still nothing. I guess it will not come sooner, but as you said "action speaks louder than words" so I'm fine with that" I answered trying to convey to her that this thing should not make her worry.
"Wow, it cannot be. It's been several weeks since your engagement" she said in disbelief.
"Well, as I remember, you are the one that has a plan where is it?" I asked her
" I know and I had it but when I talked to Oscar about it he got upset and warned me not to repeat it to anybody, so now my mouth is zip.
"I am so sorry girl," she said in a sad voice.
Sandra and Oscar are cousins but the latter acts more as her brother. Hearing what she said, I choose not to ask more about it too.
"It's Okay girl. You don't have to do anything about it" I told her.
"I just want you to be happier. But now, what I can encourage you is just be patient I know one day it will come. More important is he always shows it by his actions" she said with an encouraging voice.
She was right so I nodded my head in agreement with what she said. Then she reached out and gave me a quick hug.
"I know how much it means to you and I know that you don't care about fireworks, candlelights, bunches of flowers, or fancy restaurants you just want to hear those words from him. But as I told you, a little more patience soon you will hear it" her words are very soothing. There I realized more how blessed I am to have her.
" Thank you, friend, I am so blessed to have you," I said hugging her. Then we separated our ways heading to our respective classrooms.

Saturday morning.
I was preparing my things to go for our choir rehearsals when my sister came into my room. She looked concerned. I was worried for her knowing that she is pregnant ;
"Lizzy are you okay?"
"Yes, but I have to tell you something" when she said these words immediately I heard my heartbeat like a drum.
"I hope it's not bad news," I told her trying to relax. She was silent for a moment then she said,
"Remember, you are an adult already and of legal age so whatever decisions you made you have the right to push it"
