Delsin's P.O.V

I didn't see it coming. I swear I didn't see it coming.

Before Fetch and I could even process the stunt the old English bastard pulled, Lena's body jerks backwards, her arms slamming against our chests as a huge amount of the space surrounding us began to cover the area with her power.

A roaring fog circles around us like a storm, I hold onto Lena's waist so I don't fly away myself, Fetch's arm wrapped around her back as we barely manage to keep our feet on the ground.

I started shivering from the cold, it felt like my entire body stiffened and one wrong move could crack my skin easily. I spoke too soon once I felt the skin break through, and I barely peeve my eyes to see that Lena's entire body started to completely materialize into ice.

"...Gah!!..." I groan as I felt something weird happening to me, too, like a ripple soaring through every damned molecule inside of me.

The fog, as insanely quick as Lena summoned it, dissipated just as fast, spreading across the entire street, with frost lining up the concrete. I finally open my eyes, and so did Fetch, her eyes popping open in shock, but so did I.

Fetch's entire figure was compacted in white ice, almost clear. I was speechless, couldn't believe my own eyes - no, my eyes were lying to me. They were lying to me.

"D...Delsin...!" She shakily points her finger towards me, and that's when I finally had the nerve to look downwards at my own body.

Crystallized. The shiny coat for crystal ice shielded me from the blast of the grenade, everything up until the fabric of my clothing was covered. I'm surprised I could still see clearly through my eyes. Fetch was astonished too, raising her hands in front of her face to stare at the beautiful, luminous coat of her skin.

But as soon as the crystal came was as soon as it began melting off our skin - our attention turning quickly towards Lena falling onto her knees, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Lena!" I snap out of my stunned trance and position myself in front of her, holding her arms but my heart shattered as soon as I saw her face.

Tears streaming down her face, her eyes were open - open with horror and panic, her frightening and quickened breathing leaving me powerless.

I grasp her fragile face in both my hands, grunting out as the ice shield pricked my skin through to rapid bleeding, "Lena... Lena look at me...!"

She gasps desperately for air, holding her chest in her hand as she mumbles, "...No...No... I'm sorry... I wasn't strong enough... please don't leave me... please don't go... no... no..."

It's like she couldn't even see me, only a nightmare she can't get out of.

Her beautifully distressing tears continued to roll down her soft cheeks, her voice cracking tragically with each word. "...Not again... it's my fault... it's my fault...."

"Lena, hey...!" Fetch gently shakes Lena's shoulder, but the crystallized ice coat plucked itself outward, pricking Fetch's hand. "Ah!"

"Take it easy.." I whisper to her, taking my hands away from Lena's face to look back at the bare space where Grayson detonated himself.
