(Author's Note: This chapter is understanding Rogue's powers better, and maintaining key story details. You can skip it if you want, but I'd really recommend reading it!)
(Additional Note: The DUP and the DUP agents were all created by Sucker Punch productions. I definitely did NOT make this up, haha.)
Curdan Cay Station, Five Years Earlier
*Augustine's P.O.V*
With tying hands, I but only peeve my eyes down at the young Conduit right in front of me from the control panel of the battle arena. She gallivants across the arena, twirling her body around with her double-take of powers. The audio from this room was cut off, as I valued my time into studying her characteristics, and her statistics.
She is undoubtedly the most experienced of her kind in this facility—with a high score of ten million points gathered by Eugene Sim's holograms in one single run. Now that..is history. That, is power. And she didn't even know it. She walks in here every-day, with such an innocent aura, but once she unleashes the power within her, she becomes something far from innocent.
I'm joyful every-time she thinks herself out of any situation—the way her body seamlessly gathers in between the holograms of my men so efficiently; whether it be by combat training blended in with her powers, or an efflux of well-crafted power amalgamations. If I have learned a thing or two about this young woman, is that she does not stay down for long, despite her own emotional pain—she finds herself in her powers. A trait of a true leader.
I back-track my steps towards my desk, logging into the Department of Unified Protection's database. Clicking on the file "Deity", I begin to compare the young Conduit to Abigail Walker.
The average Conduit can possess one extraordinary ability, with additional sub-sets of powers fashioned to each Conduit's unique talent. Abigail Walker is capable of transforming into neon light, running continuously in unmatched speed against her rivals. She is also able to slow down time, allowing herself to snipe bullets of neon right at her enemy's weak points. "Hmm..."
I then click on the footage attached to Abigail's files—viewing the rest of her own subsets of her power. In one video clip captured by our own cameras established in every corner of the arenas, Abigail successfully takes down the holograms of my troops using what she called a stasis blast; gusts of neon energy that traps opponents in stasis. I exit out of that individual footage, and open another clip—where Abigail launches a salvo of neon missiles that seek out enemies; demolishing them completely.
Exiting out of that footage, I analyze her basic melee attacks, basic long-rage attacks using neon, and her propensity of draining neon sources. "Interesting." Opening the last piece of footage, I watch steadily as Abigail's most deadly power is presented.
The Neon Singularity—a single point of light that she is able to condense with all of her neon energy once her adrenaline is at its' peak. Quickly, I begin putting two and two together, "Could it be?" I close Abigail's file, at last opening the file "Deity."
Once the mugshot of the young woman is shown, I shake my head irredeemably at the picture. "Stubborn girl." Rogue wasn't exactly thrilled to have her mugshot taken, as she rolls her eyes and holds up her middle finger disdainfully.
I then open all of her footage—I wasn't pleased that my screen had loaded up with dozens of video clips involving her numerous different powers, as they took up mountains of space. As I select each clip, I manage to handpick five videos that highlight her favorite use of powers.
