Chapter 17: Catrian's Lake
She was busy texting someone on her phone.
"Who's the boy this time?" tanong ko sabay upo sa kaniyang tabi.
She was giggling. "The guy I met in the club."
Hindi na ako nagulat sa kaniyang sinabi. Of course, it's a different one. Looks like they didn't just had fun that night and they even exchange numbers.
She's the type of person that has no problem talking about her sex life. She's very vocal about it and that's what I like about her.
Our afternoon went on just like that. Lizette was happy because we don't have that much activities for this week like what we usually have. They can just go home and do their activities. In our case, after school we go straight at our work. Mahirap mag manage ng time kapag working student ka.
Lizette dragged me towards the small coffee shop in our campus. Pagkapasok namin ay wala na masyadong estudyante. Dahil siguro uwian na. The coffee shop is usually crowded in the morning dahil ganoong oras dagsaan ang mga estudyante.
But I never dared to go inside. There's only one reason. Their coffee price here is quite expensive.
She shushed me. "Don't worry I got my paycheck last friday. Two bottles of coffee and waffles won't hurt."
Hindi na ako nagpumilit pa. Well, it's her money anyways. Buti nga siya ay nakuha na ang sweldo niya for this month. Ako ay next week pa. Plano ko ngang mag-ipon muna.
After that, she did what she have to do. Just like she said, she ordered two cups of coffee and two chocolate flavored waffles. Pagkatapos non ay kaagad rin kaming umalis. The shop closes at five at mabuti ngang nakahabol pa kami bago ito magsara.
"Hey, you okay?
"Ikaw nalang muna, Liz. May pupuntahan pa ako.
"Where to?"
I'm sure that it's not a good idea to tell her where I'm going. She'll probably make a big deal out of it. I need to come up with a good excuse.
"It's just something urgent. Tita Viena wants me to buy her a important item." palusot ko.
